Led by our esteemed Chief Instructor and Australian National Kata Coach, Shihan Stephen Kelly, 7th Dan, Kyoshi, the SHITO-RYU SHUKOKAI UNION Oceania has flourished since its establishment. Our headquarters in Brisbane, Queensland, serves as a hub for Mr. Kelly's expertise and guidance.

Over the years, the Shitoryu Shukokai Union Oceania has expanded to include affiliates from Victoria, New South Wales, Canberra, and New Zealand. Furthermore, our union extends to countries across Europe, America, and Asia, fostering a global community of karate practitioners.

At SSU-Oceania, we pride ourselves on being specialists in traditional karate. Our instructors boast impressive credentials, having served as past and present State and National Coaches in both Kata and Kumite disciplines, within the Australian Karate Federation. Their dedication and expertise have produced numerous state, national, and international champions. Notably, our Chief Instructor, Shihan Stephen Kelly, currently holds the esteemed position of National Kata Coach.

In addition to our regular training sessions, SSU-Oceania is deeply involved in organizing and participating in various local, national, and international events and tournaments throughout the year. We believe in the importance of fostering camaraderie and cultural exchange, which is why we frequently host training sessions and competitions that bring together our Japanese masters and friends from all corners of the globe.
