Reviews of Glenala State High School
"Teachers need to keep a better eye on the students, there are just about 1-2 fights that happen here every week, very bad school do not bring your child here"
"My child attends this school while there are some very awesome teachers that teach my child there are also the ones who are nasty and not helpful.A childs main purpose for attending school is to be educated and to find some enjoyment from the teaching. This schools Principal and Deputy Principal that are in place at the moment in my opinion are no good.Number one reason the Principal didn't know that a form had to be filled out for homework club had to get assurance from Deputy.Number two reason you will be sent an sms that says the Principal has sent an email to you .Well I am still waiting for it. Number 3 .I am still waiting for the email that says your child is suspended .4 They can accuse your child of saying something he didn't and won't give you the name of the teacher that accused the child just get told I can't give that information.5 They concentrate way to much on uniform and not enough on teaching.A Schools Principals job I thought was to know how their school functions but not in this case the left Hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing and this is our Eduction System ."
"This is a school that is challenged by a reputation that lingers like a bad smell. While in previous years the school was certainly not up to any decent standards, acting as a rich fuel for the stereotype that characterises the area, it has certainly picked up. With some support from a much needed change in leadership (and a bit of help from the Gonski school funding, dare I say it.) the school has significantly increased in quality. It's strength is undoubtedly student support as it lacks in a few areas, such as a lack of any law classes. Of course I do not know the story behind such faults. The school is primarily sports led, but not lacklustre in academic achievements by any standards. The teachers are lovely, the education quality and with about seven hundred and fifty student, it's just the right size. Am I disappointed I miss out on some studies other schools may provide? Yes. I'm a unhappy that I attend this school? No."
"An outstanding choice for the Inala and Durack community. My child received a scholarship to another high school in the area, but we decided to choose the local high school instead. I have been impressed by the facilities, programs and more importantly, the teacher's commitment to challenging students to achieve their best results. This is a school that is focused on students and giving them every possibility to be their best. I would strongly recommend this high school over other local alternatives"
"An absolutely brilliant secondary school. This little gem is South-West Brisbane's best kept secret. An OP One 2015, 2016, 100% QCE all years. My relatives who attended here were extremely happy to be part of a highly inclusive, highly successful school. Keep it going Inala/Durack/Richalnds!!!!! You won't be disappointed."
