About Dayboro Community Kindergarten & Preschool
Welcome to Dayboro Community Kindergarten & Preschool, located in the beautiful Moreton Bay Region of Queensland, Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, we are dedicated to providing a nurturing and enriching environment for children aged 3-5 years old.
At Dayboro Community Kindergarten & Preschool, our focus is on helping children build resilience, connection, and environmental awareness through child-led learning and nature immersion. We believe in the power of nature to inspire curiosity and foster a love for learning. Our nature-based, child-led curriculum is designed to encourage the development of reading, writing, art, science, and math skills while allowing children to explore and discover the world around them.
Our institution prides itself on creating a welcoming and home-like environment where children and families feel a sense of belonging and community. We invite you to come and experience our kindergarten firsthand by joining us on a tour. Our parents consistently rave about us being the best early education center in the South East QLD, and we would love for you to see why.
We are currently accepting waitlist applications for 2023 and beyond, so secure your child's place at our kindergarten today. With a maximum capacity of 22 children in each group, we ensure personalized attention and a calm, encouraging, and warm setting for your child to thrive.
Our comprehensive sustainability program sets us apart. We go beyond the basics of recycling and water conservation, allowing children to actively participate in a wide range of sustainability activities. Through hands-on experiences, they learn to live a sustainable lifestyle and understand the importance of caring for our environment.
In addition to our nature-based curriculum, we offer a range of incursions such as Indigenous Art Class, Yoga, Sea Life Experiences, and more. Our dedicated fundraising team works tirelessly to raise funds that enable our children to further their learning and experiences.
Our expansive outdoor environment includes a playground, chickens, natural stingless bees, vegetable gardens, composting, and a worm farm. Fruit trees, a mud kitchen, loose parts play area, bike tracks, and beautiful grassed lawns provide endless opportunities for exploration and hands-on learning. Children gain a first-hand insight into the life cycles of animals and plants, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for the natural world.
From 1 January 2023, the Queensland Government will introduce new kindergarten funding, ensuring that every child has a great start. Families attending sessional kindergartens like Dayboro Kindy will benefit from reduced fees and increased subsidies. We are committed to reinvesting every dollar back into our kindergarten as a community-run, non-profit organization.
Our experienced and qualified early learning teachers are passionate about providing a nurturing learning environment. They understand the importance of individualized support and encourage children to use symbols, combining oral language, pictures, print, and play to create and communicate meaning. Our science and math curriculum helps children understand the world around them and sparks curiosity, while our unique drawing and painting program allows them to express their creativity through art.
We believe in going beyond surface-level learning and encourage critical thinking skills through hands-on activities. We give students the space and freedom to ask "how?" and "why?" as they develop a deeper understanding of the subjects they study.
At Dayboro Community Kindergarten & Preschool, we prioritize the well-being and development of each child. While we understand that toilet training takes time, our educators are happy to assist children in using the toilet. However, we are unable to offer places to children who still use nappies due to the additional time required to manage this.
We have an open-door policy and welcome visits from prospective families. If you can arrange a time in advance, we can ensure that someone is available to show you around and answer any questions you may have. We also host a yearly Family Fun Day, providing an opportunity for your child to explore in a relaxed setting and for you to meet current parents and speak to staff members.
Dayboro Kindy is a community-based, not-for-profit kindergarten run by a committee of parents and guardians. We are affiliated with Gowrie (Qld) Inc, which is licensed by the Office for Early Childhood Education and Care. With over 50 years of experience, families have trusted us to provide a nurturing learning environment for their children, and we would be honored to welcome yours.

Reviews of Dayboro Community Kindergarten & Preschool
"This is our third year with the Kindy now and our first great impressions have only grown. The teachers here are amazing! The kindy has recently won best childcare in the pine rivers area and all I can say is that it is exceptionally well deserved."
"I would highly recommend Dayboro community Kindy. The teachers are so kind and caring and take so much interest in each individual child. The curriculum is very much based on the interests of the kids making it very personalised to your child. It’s been amazing to see the dinosaur fossils and footprints pop up all over the room to match Naomi’s fascination. I can’t wait to see what things they’ll get up to this term. The facility is excellent as well with so many great play corners inside as well as a massive playground, swings, bike path, gardens and chicken coup. Watching chickens hatch from eggs last term was a highlight for sure."
"This is the place for childhood adventures! I fell in love with this kindy on our first visit. It's very easy to get swayed by fancy shiny playground equipment, the neatness of astro turf and 'yoga for kids' or Spanish flash card programs, maybe a coffee to go for parents at other daycare centres. This kindy is nothing like that. This place actually celebrates childhood. You know, the old fashioned kind, the childhood with muddy feet and good play. You have this amazing huge playground, no traffic noise, surrounded by lush mulberry trees and wildlife galore. You have a huge mud kitchen, chickens, worm farm, woodwork sessions with saws, a playground that actually challenges and encourages children to climb, crawl, swing and be a bit brave. A centre that teaches independence, creativity, develops self esteem and community spirit. Children learn to look after the land, and are participants of big ideas (for example through fundraising). My daughter reminds me every morning "no wrappers in my lunchbox mama please, we are trying not too litter" and out and about will teach me all the things she heard about native wildlife, plants and rock. The best part of course are the amazing teachers, who treat the kindy as an extension to their home. At the end of two years the small team there feel like family. I feel so fortunate that my children can attend such an amazing centre."
"Unbelievable facility. Bike tracks, swings, mud pits, playground, everything you could imagine wanting to play with if you were 4 again"
