"Had a great experience with Dr J Kestenberg and Team. Found out daughter had a tongue and lip tie at 4mths so our lactation consultant refer us to him and glad we made the decision to get it done. Dr Kestenberg and Team explained everything and it was done fast. My daughter wasn’t feeding more than 10-20mls at a time and would really fuss. "I had written a review and then removed it so that’s why the response from them asks for my experience. I was a bit nervous given the cult following this practitioner seems to have accrued. We had a negative experience after a tongue tie procedure that didn’t work. When we returned for a checkup we asked for the risks involved for a second revision after the first didn’t seem to make a difference. Jeffrey Kestenberg only said “everything comes with risk”, minimizing our need for legitimate information and our concern for a small baby undergoing mild surgery. When I pushed for more information he seemed annoyed and said “well you can either do again or you don’t”. I was a new parent of a child not gaining appropriate weight, so I was quite surprised by this attitude. We’re calm people and my partner was with me, we both felt this way. I’ve since learned about the risks through other professionals and I’m glad I didn’t go ahead with the procedure. Baby never needed it anyway, his tongue has full movement six months later and we didn’t do anything, it just grew. Jeffrey told me this was impossible. We also addressed some food intolerances and he began piling on weight. Not saying this is always the case but for us we need a more thorough conversation for something potentially traumatising and that can create oral aversions. Since this experience I’ve learned more about tongue tie lasering and how controversial it is, and have spoken to other concerned new parents who’ve seen Jeffrey and had the same sort of brushing off of their extremely reasonable questions. If anyone’s considering revising a tongue tie please look at the Australian Dentists Association Consensus on Ankyloglossia for a really comprehensive breakdown of what’s considered necessary or helpful and what’s considered dangerous amongst most practitioners. I’m sorry to Jeffrey that I didn’t bring this up directly, but I felt quite belittled and like a nuisance so I didn’t think the feedback would be taken on board. My son was a patient here, but I’d prefer to not have his name up. I should be on your records though."

"After 11.5 months of numerous medical appointments; 3x Lactation Consultants, 2x Paediatricians, 1x Royal Children's Feeding clinic, 2x Allergists, and still our child was unable to swallow properly, Dr Kestenberg was our last resort. After our fist consultation, he immediately recognised that my child had a tongue & lip tie which meant she was unable to clear her palate, and therefore swallowing her food was difficult. As soon as we had the procedure, she started asking for food & has been catching up ever since (18 months old now). I am only sorry, that Dr K wasn't our first resort. Would 100% recommend for all things ties related."
