Montezuma's Mexican Restaurant & Bar - Mt Gravatt, QLD

"!!!Vegetarians Beware!!! Tonight I dined at Montezumas Mount Gravatt. I ordered a vegetarian burrito bowl. When it arrived it had a serving of chicken on the plate. I questioned this and the waitress took it back to the kitchen to rectify this mistake before returning with my meal where she told me they had remade it. Fast forward to me eating my meal and at the bottom of the bowl are all the remnants of the chicken that had previously been on my plate. I mistakenly believed Montezuma’s would have the decency to make me a new meal not contaminated by meat as I was told they had . However, they simply haphazardly scooped the chicken out and dumped a load of refried beans on top to cover it up. I am offended that Montezuma’s staff respected my dietary choice so little that it resulted in me consuming meat for the first time in 10 years. The restaurant acknowledged their error but did little to compensate for it. Needless to say I won’t be returning and warn others who may have dietary requirements who dine here that the kitchen staff may choose whether they wish to acknowledge your dietary preference."

"Saturday night, 7:30 booking, seated and told the kitchen shuts in 10min. Food came quick and was tasty. Felt pressured to finish our meals quickly as the staff loudly moved furniture about cleaning up the 2 other tables. Some felt on the chair legs would help reduce the noise levels, might also help level the table so it doesnt rock. Only a handful of parking spots, and some of them were taken by staff."

"Good value for money. Friendly staff. Clean and fresh food. Quick service. 4 combination tips was amazing as a starter. We ordered for Mains, beef nachos, con reacaudo garlic prawns nachos, chicken enchilada combination dinner and kids chicken nachos."

"Looks like these new owners have taken over the Montezumas that was further down the road. They were awesome. Really wish the cooks had gone to the new place! Wish Barbara had not retired and came across as well lol We were a party of 11, not all meals and drinks pictured. Delayed review, visit was on 16/09/22. We really want this Montezumas to succeed. It really is a family favourite restaurant, and whilst we’re glad you’re here, we want what we had before - please and thank you! Your new place is great, roomy, the artefacts are there, good lighting and general vibe and ambience is pleasant. The restaurant was full, so that is always a good sign. What’s not so great is the corn chips. Or rather the tortilla that is cut up in triangles and fried. Pls stop doing that. The oil that you’re frying them in is not fresh oil and the chips give off a stale odour. Please just serve normal, regular corn chips - warmed up, salsas - done. I was told the seafood dish was a but watery, and whilst I didn’t eat it, it wasn’t aesthetically pleasing. For that price, it should have looked and tasted great. You have enough service staff, but your kitchen seems short staffed. They certainly should be praised for the hard work they did, catering to a full capacity of patrons. The vegetarian meals were ok…and definitely could be better. The beans are just too bland and the tortilla chips kinda let the dish down. Parking is atrocious. It’s better to park opposite in the shopping centre and walk across. Will definitely visit again, but really hope the food tastes better. However, we sincerely wish you all the best and hope you’re around for a really long time. Adios!"
