Reviews of sAme sAme Brisbane
"An exceptional find in Brisbane! This Thai restaurant exceeded expectations during our Australian trip. The scallop and beef curry were amazing. An extensive wine list complemented the food perfectly. Impeccable service and a charming ambiance. For Thai cuisine enthusiasts, this is a must-visit!"
"This experience was 9 months ago. We booked in advance but we didn’t feel that we were prioritised as we stood waiting to be seated. It was so cold as the wind blew in when customers came in. The food was okay..fancy. I like the creativity and effort. But service needs to be improved."
"We had counter seating which is the front section that faces out. It was SO dark. Customers would really benefit from a little lamp for each two seats so that you can comfortably read the menu and see your food without having to turn on your phone flashlight. We ordered the $84pp banquet and a few cocktails. Overall the experience was enjoyable and the service was great! The kingfish was a stand out dish for us and we really enjoyed the balance of flavours. Least favourite was dessert as it was poorly balanced and the crumb was SO unbearably salty. The rest of the food was pretty good with great flavours but should note that most dishes had a nice kick of spice (chilli). Probably not suitable for people who don’t eat chilli at all as it would be quite spicy to them."
"The experience at sAme sAme Brisbane was lovely with flavours that pop, a vibe that is representative of an underground movie set with cool tunes and smells from the kitchen that make you hungry. I had the sAme sAme chicken burger as an entree, the penang curry with braised angus beef cheek with a serving of jasmine rice for the main, the Thai coffee pannacotta for dessert plus a cocktail. The overall food was splendid. The items I chose from the menu partnered beautifully together. I would certainly go back again for the food. As someone from Sydney, it was a worthy experience. If you want quality ingredients, you will certainly have that with the prep work undertaken. You can see and smell the food being prepared with an open kitchen which is cool. The only negative: the service at the start was excellent and then it dropped due to being a single diner. I noticed that once the restaurant started filling out, I was forgotten. It took time for my main plated to be cleared which surprised me. A tip for those dining on their own, you may have to wave your hand a few times to order or ask for something when it gets busy which it will as it’s a popular venue. Suggestion for the staff, always check on your patrons no matter the number of people for a dining experience. I spent a significant amount for one person and at times felt I wasn’t important as the staff were more than happy to go pass me at the counter dining seating and go the tables with 2+ patrons. Just my personal opinion. Other than that, highly recommended!"
"Amazing experience. We had the $79 banquet and the food was beautiful. So many different fresh flavours, succulent meats and vibrant salads all presented beautifully. A bite into the chicken burger takes you immediately to heaven. Service was fantastic. Our wine glass was never empty, food was timed well and staff were professional. Ambience was elegant and relaxing. Darkly lit, nice finishes and not too noisy makes for a great romantic evening. Highly recommend."
