"This is a cafe in the heart of Canterbury. I called in here for a coffee. The service was efficient. My strong almond latte had some good flavour, and some nice milk froth. The coffee was strong and the almond milk quite nice. This place roasts its own coffee too. Overall I was impressed with this cafe and I’d definitely go back."
"If you are fussy about your coffee, and want a quiet place to relax - this is the place for you. I explained to the Barista at Fiendish Brew that I was very particular about my coffee, and that I preferred a doppio ristretto café late. (This means it's a restricted extraction: it's based on the idea that the first part of any extraction is the most flavoursome, and the subsequent coffee that follows is not as concentrated. The longer the extraction process, the less flavours are left in the coffee. A ristretto is basically only the good bits at the beginning, restricting the secondary extraction and resulting in a more concentrated coffee.) The Barista made me a superb ristretto. My friend enjoyed her "normal" brew of coffee and a flaky croissant which she said was made with butter imported from France. It all sounds rather fancy, but in fact it's a modest looking, comfortable place where you can relax. And you can sit outside with your dog if you wish. Perfect!"
