Black Salt Cafe

"Wanted breakfast on way home from appointment in Clayton and Black Salt came up in Cafe's near me and what a nice place. Husband had scrambled eggs on multigrain while I had the vegetarian breakfast (avocado smash, hash brown, mushrooms, tomato and spinach) on multigrain toast. And we had coffees (flat white and soy latte). Now the food was great, mushrooms exactly how I like them too, (plain button mushrooms sauted). They have a lunch menu with burgers, fries etc and they also have sweet treats on offer, including different types of muffins and the obligatory banana bread. I brought a mango, coconut and raisin muffin, as only one left and it looked so appealing! Service great and some angle parking out the front. Ample seating inside and out."

"This is such a lively little cafe. The staff are extremely attentive. The food was absolutely delicious. My husband & father had the calamari & a side of shoestring fries to share - the serve was huge. Both of them struggled! I had the chicken burger & fries. I can honestly say it was one of the best burgers I have had! And the iced coffee was awesome. All of us left feeling very full & ready for an afternoon nap! Thank you to all the staff at Black Salt. Highly recommend."

"Black Salt cafe is an excellent place to eat. As part of a couple I attended this place at around 1pm on a Saturday - based on a recommendation - and was not disappointed. Plenty of other diners were present, although it was not full at this time. Food servings were plentiful (my Super Salad with added grilled chicken was enough for 2 and therefore good value at $21) Food quality was of a high standard, as were our tea and coffee choices. Staff were pleasant, efficient and helpful. It proved the perfect choice for a cold Saturday in Winter."

"Real score 3.6 out of 5. We were visiting friends in the area and decided to check out a few local cafes, one of them being Black Salt. It struck us as being a good cafe. It was doing good business this morning. The barista was flat out and there were plenty of people both in the cafe and getting take away. The coffee was pretty good I’d have to say. Quite tidy. The cafe itself was nicely decorated inside and also has good outdoor seating for the right day. Good to see they hadn’t skimped on staff numbers too. There were a good number around. We enjoyed our coffees. I liked the look of the food on display too. Looks like a good local cafe. I’d happily return anytime."
