As an environmental education center, community garden, urban farm, and social enterprise hub, CERES spans across four locations, connected by the beautiful Merri and Darebin Creeks on Wurundjeri Country in Melbourne.

Established in 1982, CERES has grown over the decades to include an online grocery, nursery, bookstore, urban farms, an ethical wood merchant, and an education center. Our vision is to inspire people to fall in love with the Earth again and to create a sustainable future.

By supporting the CERES EOFY (End of Financial Year) Appeal, you are not only supporting the cherished CERES community but also helping us maintain our special place within your backyard. Our Fair Wood program supplies farm-forested, sustainable timber and firewood, promoting responsible and ethical practices.

One of our notable locations, CERES Joe's Market Garden, is a two-acre organic farm situated along the picturesque Merri Creek in Coburg. Our education offerings, both at CERES and in schools, are designed to address the pressing climate and ecological crisis, empowering individuals to take action.

At CERES, we are proud of our chickens, who often steal the show. Allow us to introduce you to Cheeky, Heidi, and Helen, three of our famous hens. Although they may look similar, each hen possesses a unique and distinct personality that adds to the charm of our community.

Volunteers play a vital role in the CERES community, and we welcome everyone to lend a hand in realizing our vision of reconnecting people with the Earth.
