"Not wheelchair friendly, took 15mins just to receive one plate for take away. Very small space. Food has been sitting awhile and you can taste it"
"TLDR: I feel their menus border on false advertising as they have black coloured plates on their conveyor belt, but there is no black plate price on their menu, only blue through gold The sushi was expensive, tasty, but not really traditional sushi, lots of creamy sauce etc. I payed over $30 for four plates of sushi (admittedly one plate was four pieces of quality salmon sashimi) I picked up a salmon sashimi platter off the train and saw that the plate was black, however there is no associated price guide on the menu, where the other plate colours and prices are. So I figure they've run out of gold plates and black is standing in for that. At the end of dining, I go to pay and am informed the price is $15 for the black plate. I was shocked as this was over double their next highest priced plate ($6.50). I offered to pay $10 for the plate, given that it was sashimi, and said I felt it was unfair as there was no indication of the price of the black plates on the menu. In their defence, if you look to order from the menu, the sashimi plates are listed with prices, however I go to Sushi Train for the convenience of quickly grabbing some plates and eating. So I grabbed a plate off the train expecting to find the price with the other coloured plates. I requested they update their menus to include the black plates along with the other plates and their corresponding prices. I am also unhappy because the manager was unwilling to negotiate, and unwilling to admit even part responsibility for the unclear pricing schedule. After I checked with him that this was the case, he said "we will consider your recommendation" however this felt like a placation to get me to pay up and get out of the store."
"The service was good enough, the staff get you seated quickly and ordered food comes out in a timely manner but that's where the praise ends. The raw fish sushi was hard to look at as it went around untouched the entire time we were there. I love raw fish but the quality had me second guessing, cuts with skin and fat still on, slimey and dried on the edges, even the freshly laid out squid I had was like chewing on mucus. The rice was barely able to hold itself together. The Ramen noodle soup was bland and the whole dish felt like parts stored separately in a fridge coming together in a microwave to make a stale lukewarm oily dish that was worse than 2 minute noodles. Upon leaving we noticed the sink and microwave station stacked high with haphazard columns of dirty dishes, but worst of all was the columns upon columns of pre-made sushi plates sitting unrefrigerated behind the cashier. They need to seriously reevaluate their quality control."
"Best sushi train I’ve been to by far. Love the staff. Love the new vibe the new store has. I always go out of my way to come here for good sushi"
"RAW FOOD- DO NOT GO When we brought the raw (uncooked pork) to the head chefs attention he was dismissive and rude and tried to convince us that “it was still fine to eat”. Will absolutely not be back. Not worth the risk of salmonella poisoning."
