Our Tenancy Assistance and Advocacy Program extends our services to clients across a larger catchment area. At Peninsula Community Legal Centre, we believe in empowering individuals to protect and advance their rights through the use of law. We offer free advice on a wide range of legal issues, including family law, family violence, fines, tenancy, and rooming house advocacy. Our ongoing assistance is specifically targeted to support clients who are facing disadvantage.

In addition to offering legal advice, our Centre actively engages in community legal education, community engagement, and law reform activities. We are involved in various community and sector networks, ensuring that our services are in line with the needs of the community we serve.

At Peninsula Community Legal Centre, our experienced team of lawyers provides legal advice on a broad range of matters, including family law, criminal law, and civil law. Peninsula Community Legal Centre is proud to offer specialist programs designed to meet specific needs. These programs include StreetLaw Coffee Van, Work and Development Permit (WDP) Scheme, Strengthening Legal Pathways for CALD Women, and Family Law Service Delivery.

Let us share with you a few stories of individuals who have benefited from our services. Daisy sought our help after separating from her partner Josh due to allegations of family violence. Despite Josh claiming that Daisy's allegations were a result of a genetic neurological disease, Daisy disputed these claims and refused to be tested, citing the unfortunate history of her relatives who had passed away from the disease.

Peter, an intelligent and well-educated man, struggled with alcohol-related issues that hindered his chances of securing work in his desired field. When Peter initially reached out to us, he had numerous outstanding fines and criminal charges stemming from his alcohol use. At the time, he was homeless and living in his car.

Annika's employment was greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. She sought our assistance with a rent reduction agreement she had made with her landlord, as well as outstanding repairs. However, the agreement included a rent deferral, which meant that Annika would have to pay back the difference between the reduced rent and the usual rental amount at the end of the agreement.
