About the Business
Welcome to Vinnies, located at Mornington-Tyabb Road, 177, in the beautiful town of Mornington, Australia. As an establishment, point of interest, and store, Vinnies is more than just a place to shop. It is part of the St Vincent de Paul Society, an organization that offers over 200 services to help people in need.
At Vinnies, we believe in supporting the constitutional recognition of Australia's First Nations peoples. With a longstanding commitment to social justice, we work hard to assist those facing poverty and combat inequality across the country. Our dedicated team of over 45,000 members and volunteers is passionate about making a difference in people's lives.
When families don't have enough money to cover the basics, Vinnies steps in to ease the pressure with practical support. By shopping at Vinnies, you are not only finding great deals, but you are also giving Australians facing poverty another choice.
Our mission, vision, and values guide everything we do. We are committed to welcoming and serving everyone with understanding and without judgment, regardless of their creed, ethnic or social background, health, gender, or political opinions. We establish relationships based on respect, trust, friendship, and perception, always working towards transforming the causes of poverty and challenging human injustice.
As a nominating organization for the Australian Government's School Student Broadband Initiative, we are proud to be making a difference in education as well. We are constantly looking for motivated, community-minded individuals to join us in our programs, events, and services nationwide. There are many ways you can help support our cause.
We believe in actively speaking out against the causes of poverty and inequality on behalf of the people we serve. Stories like Samantha's, whose life turned around with a helping hand from Vinnies, inspire us to continue our work. We have also assisted individuals like J, who was injured and lost his job, and D, who found herself unemployed for the first time in her life. Together, we can create a more just and compassionate society.
As a lay Catholic organization, we are proud of our faith-based roots and the values it instills in us. We also acknowledge that we are on Aboriginal land and pay our respects to all traditional custodians. This website may contain images of deceased members of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community, which are used with the utmost respect and appreciation.
The St Vincent de Paul Society National Council of Australia Inc. is endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office as a Deductible Gift Recipient. With your support, we can continue making a positive impact in the lives of those in need.
Join us at Vinnies and be a part of the change. Together, we can create a brighter future for all Australians.

"Went in there today. Lady with brown hair and glasses had such a filthy attitude!!! So disgustingly rude!!! Not impressed!!!"
"Got some plates and they held them for me while I looked around! Thank you deb x"
"When purchasing an item the two lovely ladies volunteering on the counter said to my girlfriend that the top looked quite stained and they would go and ask the manager about the price. After a short while a woman appeared with the top she'd cleaned and said, "iT's fiFtEeN dOlLaRs CaUsE iTs rAlPh lAuReN." Ok well we didn't question the price. We didn't question anything, so there was no need to be rude we weren't questioning your pricing. You got it for free anyway. Best keep in mind you are an op shop."
"super friendly service and reasonably priced items,,,"
"Nothing better then having an opshop when the day is gloomy unfortunately I didn’t have a nice experience at Vinnies Mornington I was accused of changing tag prices. From $8 to $7. This made me feel embarrassed in front of other shoppers. When it wasn’t my fault another worker had marked the item the wrong price. Once a product is marked it can’t just be changed at the register. Otherwise that could happen on every purchase."
