Welcome to Orchard Road Maternal & Child Health Centre, located in the beautiful suburb of Doreen, Australia. As an establishment dedicated to the health and well-being of families, we offer a range of services to support parents and children from newborns to school age.

Our Maternal and Child Health Service (MCH) is free and confidential for all City of Whittlesea families. Our team consists of Registered Nurses with additional qualifications in Midwifery and Maternal and Child Health, ensuring that you receive the highest level of care.

At Orchard Road Maternal & Child Health Centre, our primary goal is to improve the health, well-being, and safety of families, as well as the learning and development of children. We understand that every family is unique, which is why we provide ongoing care tailored to your specific needs.

Due to a shortage of qualified Maternal and Child Health Nurses, some MCH services across Victoria are unable to offer the full range of consultations. However, we are proud to inform you that we can provide MCH services for infants from birth up to 12 months of age, as well as all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander infants, children, and families, and those with additional needs.

In addition to our MCH services, we also offer a Drop-In service and the MCH Line 132 229 for additional support. Our dedicated team is available to assist you and answer any questions you may have.

To schedule a key ages and stages appointment or make changes to an existing appointment, please request an MCH Appointment. If your enquiry is urgent and relates to an appointment within the next two working days, please call our team directly on 9404 8888 between 9am-4.30pm, Monday to Friday.

We understand that breastfeeding and feeding your baby can sometimes be challenging. That's why we offer the opportunity to chat with a Maternal and Child Health Nurse or Lactation Consultant who can provide guidance and support.

In addition to our individual consultations, we also offer First Time Parent Groups and Sleep and Settling programs facilitated by professionals. These programs aim to assist parents in navigating the joys and challenges of parenthood.

For families facing additional challenges impacting parenting, relationships, and well-being, our Enhanced Maternal and Child Health (EMCH) Service is here to provide extra support. This outreach program is available for families with children from birth to preschool age.

We are committed to ensuring that our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families feel supported and included. Our Deadly Boorais and Deadly Families Program actively engages these families and supports their engagement in our Maternal and Child Health service. The program includes the Yarning Circle and Drop-In Session, providing further opportunities for connection and engagement.
