Mulgrave Private Hospital

"The care I received here was excellent. Nursing staff were attentive and respectful. They were consistently careful to record and check that my medications and progress was being accurately dispensed and monitored. When I used the call button they were quick to respond and never made me feel uncomfortable or that I was asking too much of them. The only reason I did not give them 5 stars was the food was pretty awful, but then again, hospital food is pretty universally known to be pretty average, except for the morning toast, everything was hot enough and the cafe at the front made it possible to purchase more interesting fare."

"Thank you to the nursing staff doing there job under so much pressure. And a big thank you to the lady serving meals in florey ward during our time there. The doctors don't make the final decision easy for elderly people like my mum who will likely not leave hospital now. Your aggressive treatment and reluctance to hand over to palliative care was disgusting to say the least. As for loosing my mums teeth during a move between rooms in the ccu and doing nothing to replace them. I was staggered that your executive director would hide behind general incompetence as the excuse. I honestly hope when your time comes you experience the same lack of respect and dignity during your final days."

"The fantastic medical staff are let down horribly by the admin dragon demanding you pay 3 days' worth of stay even though you have a tac claim number. If you do not, you are threatened by being thrown into an ambulance and shipped off to a public hospital nearby. Even TAC said they are a disgrace when I told them this! EDIT - (And yes, contrary to your reply below, I was covered for that entire day, but Mulgrave had the gall to take the emergency admission payment including ALL treatment for the day, & still ask I go to another hospital! All to make $ off of the same bed twice in a day!)"

"I was discharged today after a 4 day stay following a gastric sleeve- the staff here are just wonderful. All of the nurses, even those in training, were compassionate, able to explain everything well, and included me in conversations about my care while in the room with me. From the staff in the kitchen who bring meals, all the way to the cleaners on Flynn ward, thanks for making my stay comfortable and easy- a special shout-out to Donna the cleaner who always asked how I was doing despite it not being her job. The discharge nurse who walked me out today was especially great, energetic, engaging and explained as much as possible as to what I should expect over the next few days being at home. The level of care at Mulgrave is amazing. Thanks for looking after me!"
