Overport Park
About the Business
Welcome to Overport Park, a stunning establishment located in Frankston South, Australia. Situated at Overport Road, 164, this park is a true point of interest for both locals and visitors alike.
At Overport Park, we pride ourselves on being a beautiful and well-maintained park that offers a range of amenities and activities for everyone to enjoy. Whether you're looking to relax and unwind in nature, have a picnic with family and friends, or engage in recreational activities, our park has something for everyone.
As an establishment, we understand the importance of sustainability and are excited to announce that Frankston City Council is preparing for a new separate purple-lid glass bin initiative. This Victorian Government initiative aims to revolutionize recycling by introducing a separate bin specifically for glass recycling across Victoria. We are proud to be a part of this important environmental movement.
In addition to our commitment to sustainability, we also prioritize community health and wellbeing. That's why we are thrilled to announce the opening of our new Healthy Futures Hub. This hub is designed to boost community health and wellbeing, offering a range of programs and services to support individuals in their journey towards a healthier lifestyle.
We also believe in providing valuable information and resources to our community. That's why we regularly host glass recycling bin community information sessions, where residents can come along and talk with the Frankston Council Waste Team about the new glass recycling bins coming to eligible municipality households later this year. We believe that education and awareness are key to promoting sustainable practices.
At Overport Park, we are dedicated to promoting biodiversity and environmental conservation. As part of Biodiversity Month, we invite you to join us on a guided walk through the Seaford Foreshore Natural Reserve. Led by Council Officers, this walk will provide valuable insights into coastal processes, coastal environmental management, and more.
Furthermore, we are passionate about social inclusion and mental health. We have recently set up a Social Inclusion Action Group for community members who want to make a positive difference to mental health, wellbeing, and social inclusion. We encourage interested individuals to express their interest by August 31st.
We value community input and believe in the power of collaboration. That's why we are currently reviewing our existing Boatshed/Bathing Box Policy to better align it with community needs and new legislative requirements. We invite you to share your feedback, which will help shape the future of our policy.
Additionally, we are planning for the future of kindergartens across Frankston City and want to know what is important to you. We invite you to have your say until September 12th, 2023, as your input is crucial in shaping the educational experiences of our youngest community members.
To stay informed about council decision-making and activities, we provide an online data portal that offers an overview of our initiatives and progress. This portal ensures transparency and accountability, allowing you to stay connected with the work we do.
Lastly, we would like to acknowledge the traditional owners of the land, the Bunurong people, and pay respect to all Aboriginal community Elders, both past and present, who have resided in the area. We recognize their integral role in the history of the region and value their ongoing connection to the land.
Visit Overport Park today and immerse yourself in the beauty of nature, engage in community initiatives, and contribute to a sustainable future. We look forward to welcoming you to our park and creating lasting memories together.

"nice facilities but oval strangely unlevel"
"Access off the main road could be a problem on a busy day. Parking left a lot to be desired. However, for the players the facilities were good. Lots of families with dogs gave it a great atmosphere."
"Attending the local tennis courts to watch my older daughter play... This park is right next door... My youngest son loves it here! There is so much equipment for them to play on and again, adjacent to a large oval, perfect to kick the footy or soccer ball. The larger section of the play equipment has three slides (one you can race your friends on!) a wobbly bridge, rock climbing wall with ropes and a fireman pole. The smaller section of the park (great for toddlers) has easy access stairs, a wobbly bridge, two small slides and crawl through tunnel. There is also a bouncing dragon and bumble bee, a climb on tractor, monkey bars, stepping swings and wizzy dizzies. Four swings (two for toddlers and two for older kids) are located opposite the entrance to the park, there is also lots of shade, easy parking, two benches (perhaps bring a rug on a busy day) and toilet facilities."
"Gorgeous enormous park, leash free throughout all year. Great view of the Bay beaches edge and across to the Dandenongs can be seen on clear days from the western lawn slope. Many marvellous old trees in that section especially, for shade on warm days. Two car park areas on Overport Rd."
