Before European settlement, Aboriginal tribes used this area for hunting, camping, and gathering food. Later, it served as grazing land, market gardens, and even a sewage treatment plant. Today, it stands as a testament to the rich history of the land.
Over 235 bird species have been recorded in Braeside Park, including the New Holland Honeyeater, Blue-billed Duck, and Latham's Snipe. Please note that the southern part of the track may only be accessible in summer.
