About The Nook
Welcome to The Nook, a unique establishment located in Sunbury, Australia. Situated on Vaughan Street, The Nook is a park and point of interest that offers a variety of activities and services for locals and visitors alike.
At The Nook, we strive to create a vibrant and inclusive community space. Our aim is to provide a place where people can come together, relax, and enjoy the beauty of nature. Whether you are looking for a peaceful spot to read a book, gather with friends for a picnic, or engage in recreational activities, The Nook has something for everyone.
As an establishment, The Nook is committed to sustainability and environmental responsibility. We are proud to announce that our partner, the Bolinda Road Resource Recovery Centre in Campbellfield, will be closed temporarily on Sunday 3 September due to Jemena maintenance work in the area. However, our Sunbury Resource Recovery Centre will remain open, providing a convenient and eco-friendly solution for waste disposal.
In addition to our commitment to the environment, The Nook is also dedicated to community engagement. We value the opinions and input of our visitors, and we are constantly seeking feedback on various projects and initiatives. Currently, we are planning improvements for Turnberry Drive Reserve in Sunbury and Strathconnon Square Reserve in Tullamarine. We invite you to have your say on the playspace concept designs, as your input will help shape the future of these spaces.
Furthermore, we believe in supporting local talent and providing opportunities for personal growth. That's why we are excited to announce that FReeZA's HYPE crew will be hosting a series of workshops this year. Whether you are interested in music, art, or other creative pursuits, these workshops are designed to help you upgrade your skills and unleash your full potential. Join the HYPE and be a part of this exciting community initiative.
For those interested in the arts, The Nook is currently showcasing a captivating exhibition of intricate drawings of Australian birds. Created with colored pencil on brown paper, these contemplative artworks offer a unique perspective on our native wildlife and are not to be missed.
If you have a green thumb or are interested in sustainable living, we have the perfect event for you. Join us for a Small Space Garden Design workshop with Kat Lavers, a renowned food production specialist, gardening educator, and permaculture designer. Learn how to create a thriving garden in limited spaces and discover the joys of homegrown produce.
For new parents, we understand the challenges of infant sleep. That's why we are offering online sessions specifically tailored for babies aged 0-4 months. Our Babies In Hume Infant Sleep Online Session and Understanding Infant Sleep Information Session provide valuable insights and tips to help you navigate this important stage of your child's development.
Lastly, we would like to acknowledge and pay respect to the rich Aboriginal heritage within our municipality. Hume City Council recognizes the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung, including the Gunung-Willam-Balluk clan, as the Traditional Custodians of this land. We celebrate and embrace Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures as an integral part of Australia's identity, and we honor the contributions of Elders past, present, and future.
We invite you to explore The Nook and experience all the wonderful offerings it has to offer. Whether you are seeking relaxation, community engagement, or personal growth, The Nook is here to provide a welcoming and enriching experience for all.
Reviews of The Nook
"Wonderful place to go for a walk on a sunny warm day. Suburb Greenery, calming sound of water, and relaxing wing can just make your day better. People are friendly so don't forget to say hello and Pat the dog. You can bring your own picnic mat and a book or even food and enjoy the day out. The place also has easy access and lot of parking."
"Wonderful place to relax. Peppercorn tree branches are perfect for climbing onto and reading a book, while ducks hurry about beneath you, and water bubbles over the stones of the creek. A great escape from the claustrophobic nature of Melbourne (at least in the eyes of a person raised in the country)."
"Wonderful place to go with family and animals. This is an off leash dog park where the dogs can run and go to the water freely. Beautiful settings and great for a picnic or just for a walk."
"A beautiful place to unwind by getting closer to the nature. You will experience lush green park, a small water stream, beautiful birds including geese, ducks, galahs enjoying in their natural habitat. Loved my visit to this place"
"Lovely place to walk the dog, great walking tracks and nice community feel. There's a few different trails that you can meander along or if you just want to sit by the water watching the ducks and geese, it's extremely relaxing. The walk up the back takes you to Goonawarra if you're up for a steep walk up the hill, or around the back towards Rupertswood for something a little flatter."
