"Purchased a pair of brown men's shoes for corporate wear. Wore them once and by lunchtime most of the instep was very badly scuffed. I took them back to the store to complain and the attendant told me this was somehow normal, and that having to polish them substantially every day was also normal. It was clear she was not interested in taking my complaint further, she was quite short with me and despite being the only customer in store, it felt like I was distracting her from other work.
