"We stayed at the Adelphi for a very special occasion recently. We booked because we love staying in funky boutique places and read good things about it. The main positives were the free mini bar, and its absolutely fantasic location close to all the best restaurants, Southern Cross station, ACMI and Fed Square where we were lucky enough to take in a Matilda's match. But the disappointing negative is they are doing renos and didn't tell us, so it was quite loud, and we were woken up by banging and construction, which doesn't make for a relaxing or romantic getaway. We would've loved to be warned about it, but only realised when we arrived. If we had known, we would have spent a couple more hundred dollars to stay somewhere like the QT nearby. The rooms were also quite dusty, we had to buy wipes and give it a bit of a clean. The water temperature in our room also kept changing from hot to cold. We didn't end up complaining because we weren't confident they would do anything given they didn't warn us about the construction. Apparently, they have recently been bought out and will get a good refurb, so hopefully, these negatives will be addressed. Unfortunately, it meant our stay wasn't what we hoped for, but maybe after renos, we'll consider giving it another go."
"The customer service at this hotel is the best we've experienced in many years. Each time my family and I entered the hotel, the staff stopped what they were doing and greeted us. They learned our first names and asked about our enjoyment of Melbourne. And it's clear that the staff do a thorough exchange of guest information between shifts, as they were all aware of pending requests we made about food, laundry, drinks, etc. Also, would like to especially thank Harini who helped arrange delivery of my daughter's left-behind items to our next location."
"I loved my stay at Adelphi. The host, Subrat, went above and beyond and made us feel special. The room attendant, Karen, did a great job with presenting and cleaning our room before arrival. We forgot a pair of shoes in the room, and received an email with options about how to collect them. The hotel is filled with Melbourne art and products. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a cool Melbourne hotel experience."
"Stayed here for 1 night with my sister. We had the twin room. It was spacious as was the bathroom. The complimentary snacks were fab. The breakfast and staff were awesome. The pool rooftop=fabulous. Now comes the negative feedback. We had a room overlooking the alley way. Absolutely zero sleep. Drunken clowns yahooing all night. Trams could be heard. Lastly the rubbish truck emptying the dumpster was the nail in the coffin. I've dined at Om Nom many times but to stay again.... I'd srsly reconsider ."
"Still my favourite hotel in Melbourne after many years. I’ve stayed in several room types and they’re all great. Service is spot on - attentive and personalised, without being forced or overwhelming. Facilities and provisions are high quality and immaculate. The pool is good fun (when Melbourne weather permits!), and you cannot beat the location."
