Dr Sathiyapriya Karthigeyan

Dr Karthigeyan has over fourteen years of working experience in the field of Paediatrics and Neonatal medicine. She completed her MBBS from Dr M.G.R Medical University in India and furthered her education with a post-graduation training, obtaining a Masters in Paediatrics from the prestigious Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research Centre (PGIMER) in Chandigarh, India.

Afterwards, Dr Karthigeyan moved to Australia and completed her Fellowship in Paediatrics, earning the FRACP qualification. Throughout her career, she has worked in various specialities, including Neonatal units in both Tertiary and Base hospitals in New South Wales. In 2018, she also completed a Masters in Public Health at the University of Newcastle.

Dr Karthigeyan is not only dedicated to providing excellent medical care, but she is also passionate about teaching. She currently works as a Senior Lecturer and Discipline Leader for paediatrics at the University of Notre Dame at Hawkesbury Campus.

Additionally, she was awarded the National Neonatology Forum, INDIA Gold Medal in 2009 for her research paper titled "A Root Cause Analysis of extreme hyperbilirubinemia and acute bilirubin encephalopathy in neonates 35 or more weeks of gestation."
