Welcome to Nalandra, the Australian International Vajrayana Buddhist Institute located in Healesville, Australia. As an establishment, place of worship, and point of interest, we offer a variety of spiritual and educational opportunities for individuals seeking to deepen their understanding of Vajrayana Buddhism.

One of our regular offerings is guided meditation on Thursdays during school terms. Led by experienced meditators Michelle J and Michelle M, these sessions are open to everyone, regardless of their level of experience. We invite you to join us and find inner peace and tranquility through the practice of meditation.

On Saturdays, during school terms, our students share their knowledge on Shantideva's Bodhisattva's Way of Life. Following the teachings, we have the privilege of listening to a wisdom talk from Dagpo Shabdrung Rinpoche, a renowned Buddhist teacher. Additionally, we provide recorded meditations by HEZR, who is currently on sabbatical. Please note that online registration is essential for these sessions.

For those looking to delve deeper into their spiritual journey, we offer a foundational course delivered by Andrew MacMillan over two consecutive Sundays in September 2023. This course provides a solid grounding in Vajrayana Buddhism and is an excellent starting point for beginners or those seeking a refresher.

Throughout the year, we also host various special events and ceremonies. One such event is the annual practice performed by His Eminence Zimo'g Rinpoche to bring prosperity for the upcoming year. Additionally, we have the opportunity to participate in the Mahakala Puja, led by the King of the Dharmapalas himself. This practice brings peace to the world and aids Vajrayana practitioners on their path to Buddhahood. All Buddhists who have taken refuge and been endorsed for a Vajrayana initiation can participate in this act of compassion.

Another notable event is the Animal Blessing Ceremony, held each spring by HEZR. Inspired by World Animal Day, this ceremony is a chance to bless and pray for the well-being and liberation of all animals. Participants are encouraged to bring their pets or even stuffed toys for blessing, and a vegetarian picnic lunch follows the ceremony.

In addition to our events and teachings, Nalandra also operates an online shopify store. Here, you can find a wide range of authentic Dharma items, genuine Tibetan antiques, and unique gifts. Proceeds from sales support families in India and Nepal, where most of our products are made.
