Welcome to Paddington Vacation Care & Out of School Care (POOSC) located at 399-435 Oxford Street in Paddington, Australia. For over 30 years, POOSC has been dedicated to providing exceptional care for the children of Paddington. Our institution is a place where children can play, learn, and grow, with a strong emphasis on professionalism, inclusivity, and community involvement.

At POOSC, we offer before and after school care services specifically for the children of Paddington Public School. Additionally, our vacation care program is available to all school-aged children from 5 to 12 years old within the wider community. As a non-profit childcare organization, we operate within the grounds of Paddington Public School and are managed by a full-time coordinator who is accountable to the POOSC Parents Committee.

Our committee consists of parents and guardians of the children attending our center. We encourage active participation from families who are interested in sharing ideas and engaging in the decision-making process. Your input is valued, and we would love to have you on board!

During before school care, children gather in the Community Room and playground. Following handwashing, they participate in programmed activities and enjoy free play. The children also learn responsibility by working together to clean up and pack away toys and equipment. Group games and quiet activities are also provided.

After school care takes place in the playground, and in cases of inclement weather, we set up in the hall, Community Room, or classrooms. Our dedicated team of staff members prioritize the wellbeing and happiness of your child above all else. They have been carefully selected for their extensive experience, knowledge, and skills. We have a committed team of permanent staff members as well as a group of long-term casuals.

In addition to our regular programs, we offer Vacation Care during NSW school holiday periods and selected pupil-free days. This service is available to all children aged 5 to 12 years old in the wider community. We are licensed to provide care for enrolled school children in the current calendar year.

During Vacation Care, we organize exciting excursions, incursions, and activities. Costs for these additional experiences are advertised in each term's Vacation Care program. Families eligible for Childcare Subsidy can benefit from reduced care fees. We strive to make our programs inclusive and accessible to all.

Our upcoming Vacation Care program includes a range of exciting activities. We will be going on a Footy Fever Excursion at Centennial Park to learn new skills in AFL. Children will have the opportunity to design their own flags inspired by their favorite sports teams. We will also enjoy a BBQ picnic at Centennial Park and play classic Aussie games like backyard cricket and toss the thong. A sausage sizzle lunch and other treats will be provided.

Other activities include a private tour of the Sydney Swans' home ground, the SCG, during the AFL Grand Final weekend. We will also have a pasta-making session, painting on canvas, gymnastics lessons, and a trip to Hoyts Cinema for a movie and picnic at the Kids Entertainment Quarter. Each day will bring new surprises and treats for the children to enjoy.
