Jnr Explorers Early Learning Centre

Welcome to Jnr Explorers Early Learning Centre, a family owned and operated childcare service located in Mortdale, in the St George area of Australia. Formerly known as Morts Road Kindy, we have been providing quality care and education since 1997.

At Jnr Explorers, we pride ourselves on being a small boutique centre, catering to a maximum of 30 children aged from 6 months to 6 years. Our opening hours of 7.30am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, ensure convenience for working families, and we operate for 52 weeks of the year, only closing on NSW public holidays.

Our main goal at Jnr Explorers is to create an inviting, stimulating, and thought-provoking environment for all our children. We want every child to feel compelled to explore, learn, grow, and develop to their full potential, while also feeling safe, secure, and supported.

Our outdoor area is a key feature of our centre, featuring natural gardens, mud and sand pits, mud kitchens, a bike track, bridges, cubby houses, an outdoor picnic area overlooking the bird Avery, and a community garden. We have two separate outdoor play spaces, one for children aged 6 months to 2 years, and another for children aged 2 to 6 years. These spaces are age-appropriate and designed to suit the needs and interests of the children.

Inside our centre, we have three rooms: The Discoverers for children aged 6 months to 2 years, The Adventurers for children aged 2 to 3.5 years, and The Investigators for children aged 3.5 to 6 years. Each room is individually designed and equipped to cater to the specific developmental needs of the children in that age group.

We take great pride in providing rich learning environments that prepare children for school and the world beyond. In addition to our regular curriculum, we offer a range of extracurricular activities such as yoga, dance, sports, music, science, cooking, bush play, and excursions around the local community.

Mealtimes at Jnr Explorers are not just about nourishment but also about social interactions. Our outdoor communal dining/kitchen area provides a lovely space for children to engage with their peers and develop self-help skills through serving and preparing food.

We believe in open communication and collaboration with families. We have an open-door policy and strongly encourage families to be involved in their child's care and education. We provide regular updates and information about our service and what is happening with the children, ensuring families are well-informed and included in their child's journey.
