About St Francis Xavier College, Berwick Campus
Welcome to St Francis Xavier College, Berwick Campus! Located at 75 Ridgemont Drive in Berwick, Australia, our institution is a point of interest and a school that offers exceptional Catholic education for high school students.
As a multi-campus, co-educational Catholic school in Melbourne, St Francis Xavier College is dedicated to providing outstanding education to the students and families of Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs. With three campuses, each campus brings our school culture to life in unique ways, all rooted in the celebration of the saving mission of Christ.
Our Wellbeing curriculum, guided by our Catholic identity, aims to equip students with the knowledge and understanding they need to promote their own welfare and that of others. Aligned with the Victorian Curriculum, our Wellbeing curriculum focuses on teaching Personal and Social Capabilities, emphasizing important skills in the areas of Relationships, Relevance, and Resilience.
At the Junior Curriculum level, we set a strong foundation in a variety of learning disciplines, providing students with the opportunity to build skills and pursue interests that will benefit them in future studies. From Years 7 to 9, students are introduced to subjects across all areas of the curriculum, giving them a breadth of learning before they specialize in specific areas for their post-school lives. With specialist facilities, vibrant events, and elective choices, we support our students in tailoring their education.
Our Senior Curriculum prepares students for the final stage of their secondary education and life after school, offering a range of academic and vocational pathways to suit their needs. Whether completing their schooling with the VCE, VCE VM, or other programs, our aim is to prepare students for their post-school pathways. Senior students benefit from a positive school community, accelerated learning opportunities, and specialty subjects.
At St Francis Xavier College, we hold values such as respect, curiosity, gratitude, and hope in high regard. Our goal is to help all students become the best possible version of themselves by providing quality education in a caring yet challenging environment that extends beyond academic excellence. As a leading Catholic school in Melbourne, we instill strong character in our students from the moment they arrive, leaving a lasting impact long after they graduate.
We also proudly acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as Australia's First People and Traditional Custodians. Living and serving on the land of the Bunurong people, we recognize their intelligence, care, and stewardship of this land for many generations. We pay respect to their elders, past, present, and emerging, and commit ourselves to moving forward in a spirit of reconciliation.
Furthermore, we embrace diversity and strive to eliminate systems, practices, and beliefs that exclude, divide, or disadvantage people. St Francis Xavier College welcomes individuals of all abilities, colors, cultures, faiths, financial circumstances, gender identities, and sexual orientations.
Child safety is of utmost importance to us, and we are committed to creating a child safe community. We proactively work to prevent any form of abuse or bullying, and if concerns are raised, we respond with compassion and care. Our intentional culture promotes the safety and well-being of all members of our community.

Reviews of St Francis Xavier College, Berwick Campus
"they preach wellbeing and safety but none of it is genuine. the teaching is all flawed, boring and useless, no academic clubs or accelerated programs for students who actually want to learn (which is like 1% of the entire school) not to mention how some of the new staff here suck at teaching, my favourite teachers all left and I was all alone for the first two years of school because of bullying and exclusion. no sense of community or enthusiasm for learning. most of the kids here just make tiktoks in the nasty bathrooms and vape, as much as I don't like the teachers here, those kids are incredibly rude to them and its honestly horrible the stuff they say behind their backs. the school is filthy littering all over the place , a disgusting excuse for a school."
"well done sfx! since day 1 u have been supporting me throughout my first days of year 7. the teachers are so kind to me and the rest of the school as i see, and they ask me if i'm okay when i don't look okay. the care-groups (homerooms) are so supportive of me and my general classes have a lot of people from my prior school, and i think that's top on! the one thing sfx could improve on is the facilities. although the behaviour is top on, i think that the toilet facilities are not in good use. like when i went to the girls toilet, the inside was although very disgusting. please fix these! once again, thank you sfx for supporting me throughout my first days of high school, and i hope that u continue to stay happy and healthy! :))))))))"
"I find it very disturbing that the Deputy Principal of this school, Malcolm Joseph, who verbally and physically abused me and so many other students at Kostka Hall has reached such a position of power. Just goes to show how the Catholic Church works, deny and promote."
"Take it from a student who has spent their schooling in here. The fees for this school, the reputation, the behaviour of student leaders DO NOT represent the inner circle of the school. Plenty of students vape, fight, and misuse facilities. But none of this amounted to the BULLYING people endured. I was a victim of rumours, as someone new to the area. This led to utter bullying and isolation. Even when I made just one friend, teachers scold me for this, because apparently I was "more bearable" when I was alone. The worst of the bullying was when someone threatened to stomp on my ribs. Teachers knew of this, but never supported me. I was manipulated into believing that I was causing problems. I thought this school doesn't tolerate bullying? The Maths program was flawed. It put everyone's math levels (including mine) to the bottom. I fully blame the school's math website for undermining the skills I've learned. Due to this, I couldn't pursue Mathematical Methods or Specialist Maths in the senior campus. Last day of Year 9 was by far the worst. The teacher allowed us students to put ideas on the board, but any (reasonable) idea I put on the board ended up getting rubbed away by classmates. The teacher saw and didn't even intervene for me. Many days I was left to cry, no-one acknowledging my existence. My first panic attack was from this school too. I remember feeling like I was dying, while everyone left me alone in the changing rooms. On top of that, I've been belittled here. I felt that all my attempts to do well have been in vain. People I know come to ask if this school is worthwhile, and I couldn't respond. Not because I have my reasons, but because I couldn't be able to say my mind. I wish I got the justice I deserved from that school. I wish this school would apologise."
"I am someone who has been hear for less then a year and I can already tell this school is awful. The school says they care about students wellbeing and mental health but they DO NOT!! So many people at this school easily get away with bullying and this school is definetly not a place where i feel comfortable and safe like i should feel at school."
