About the Business
Welcome to St Margaret’s Berwick Grammar, a leading non-denominational independent private school located in Berwick, Australia. Situated in the serene southeastern suburbs of Melbourne, our school offers boys and girls from Early Learning to Year 12 outstanding learning opportunities in a safe and welcoming environment.
Our school is nestled on beautifully curated grounds spanning over 50 acres, providing a calm and secure place for students to grow and flourish. With excellent learning spaces and facilities spread across two campuses, our students have a place to belong and connect in a natural landscape.
At St Margaret’s Berwick Grammar, we pride ourselves on our unique Diamond Education Model. We offer a co-educational learning environment in the Early Learning Centre and Junior School, before separating students at the appropriate physical and emotional stage in their growth for single-gender education on separate dedicated campuses. This approach allows both girls and boys to thrive in safe learning zones, breaking free from traditional gender stereotypes.
Our school community is diverse and inclusive, with students and families from all sections of our school having their own dedicated spaces on our large campuses. We believe in creating a sense of belonging and building a strong community through a range of programs that bring students together.
We are proud to announce that St Margaret’s Berwick Grammar has been recognized for exceeding the National Quality Standard by the Australian Children's Education and Care Quality Authority. This recognition highlights our commitment to providing exceptional education and care for our students.
Our Wellbeing Team has also been nominated for the Best Student Wellbeing Program - Positive Mental Health Strategy in The Educator’s Australian Education Awards 2023. This nomination is a testament to our school's dedication to enhancing and nurturing student wellbeing. We have a large number of staff members who have contributed to our Wellbeing Committee, ensuring that our students receive the support they need to thrive.
We would also like to congratulate our highly regarded Principal, Dr Annette Rome FACE FACEL, who has been nominated for the prestigious School Principal of the Year - Non-government in the Australian Education Awards 2023. Dr Rome's leadership at our school over the past 7 years, along with her distinguished career of over 3 decades in education, is truly commendable.
At St Margaret’s Berwick Grammar, we believe in providing a holistic education that prepares our students for success in their future endeavors. Join us in creating a vibrant and nurturing learning community where students can reach their full potential.

Reviews
"very good school. My daughter is loving the School . Cant understand the all the negative reviews."
"They have put the fee up again as after charging Over 14k, apparently it is not enough to fill their pockets. Now charging another $700 for building development which was voluntary up until last year. How can they justify such hikes and extorting the parents. Nothing about academic performance or what the school is doing about teaching the kids. You get one 5 minute meeting with teacher every few months about educational and thats all. Shame as they are acting like thugs."
"STAY AWAY FOR YOUR SANITY! This school has a racket going. They offer Scholarships to smart students from poorer families to make their results stats look good on paper then deliberately deliver a very poor standard of education to those on scholarship until the parents pull them from the school. Then they take the poorer parents, some of them single parents to the magistrates court for $50,000 saying the scholarship is null & void & they owe FULL FEES! This is a tried and tested racket that targets poorer families. DO NOT expose your family to this school."
"Absolutely appalling School focused solely on their financial income and not the education of the Girls. Teachers marking correct Maths as INCORRECT and vice versa. Court action is their game and even if the level of education was sub-standard or your child was bullied they rely on contract law to screw you for inflated fees that were never discussed. I was sued for almost $60,000 after agreeing 19k a year on Scholarship. They do not care about their students or their families and their lawyer ACTUALLY said in court "There was no assurance made of any particular standard of education". Whoa. Avoid avoid avoid."
"My daughter was offered a full scholarship. Half annual fees of $19000. When she left the school took us to court for $48000. This after my daughter found the maths teacher marking correct work incorrect and vice versa. The education was poor & I am very glad my daughter no longer attends. My advice would be to not send your children here."
