About the Business
Laburnum Primary School is a warm and friendly institution located in the picturesque suburb of Blackburn, Australia. Situated on Janet Street, our school is not only an establishment but also a point of interest, as it serves as a primary school for children in the local community.
At Laburnum Primary School, our mission is to create a school community that truly embodies our Vision of Learn, Thrive, Contribute. We believe in providing a nurturing environment where students can learn, grow, and reach their full potential. With a dedicated team of educators, we are committed to providing high-quality education and fostering a love for learning in our students.
One of the key aspects that sets Laburnum Primary School apart is our strong emphasis on Cyber Safety. We understand the importance of ensuring a safe and secure digital environment for our students. As part of our commitment to this cause, we have implemented a Mobile Phone Policy that is mandated for all students. This policy requires students to leave their devices at the office each morning, where they are securely stored in a locked cupboard until the end of the day. By doing so, we aim to promote a healthy balance between technology use and face-to-face interactions, fostering a positive and safe learning environment for all.
For more detailed information about our Mobile Phone Policy and other important school planning and policies, please visit the 'Our School - Planning and Policies' section on our website.
Laburnum Primary School invites you to join our vibrant and inclusive community. We value the partnership between parents, staff, and students, as we believe that together we can create a supportive educational environment that prepares our students for a successful future.
Come and experience the warm and friendly atmosphere of Laburnum Primary School. We look forward to welcoming you and your child into our school community, where they can learn, thrive, and contribute to society.

"I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Laburnum Primary School. Wouldn't recommend. The teachers overcomplicates simple things to make it confusing to new learners. The curriculum feels outdated and uninspiring, failing to capture the interest of students. Don't get me started on the principal, Dr Dray. Since she came to Laburnum, she cancelled all the fun activities so many students loved and looked forward to. The state of this school was absolutely horrendous the toilets were disgusting the buildings were old and trashed. The children here were treated terribly and their education was slow and bad. One of or if not the worst school in whitehorse If I could rate this lower, I would. I don't recommend Laburnum. Absolute trash."
"Honestly the principal is certified dogshirt, and they make so many pointless rules. They ask you not to wait outside the gates if you arrive early. The teachers are decent, but overall 3/10"
"This school is...bad. They got millions of dollars from the government but haven't done anything to improve the school. I had many great memories in this school and many bad. The principal, Dr.Dray, seems nice and sweet on meetings, but in reality is a karen. The best teacher is Ms. Feilding. She was a legend to me and was the most caring teacher i have ever met, unlike Dr. Dray. I was lucky to have her in year 4."
"Dr. Kim Dray, the principal of Laburnum School, is a heartless and impatient old woman who seems to have been hurt in the past and is capable of lying. It's ridiculous that the school allows children to be honest while having such a person as the principal. She is not popular among the children, and the school has become very bad under her management. In the classroom, a child politely said goodbye to the principal, and the whole class heard it, but the principal pretended not to hear and left without any response. She never has patience when talking to students and is extremely strict, harsh, domineering, and authoritarian."
