As an establishment and point of interest in the community, we are committed to fostering an environment that promotes academic excellence, character development, and spiritual growth.
One of the highlights of our college is the unique enrichment experiences offered through our Gifted and Talented Program (GATE). This program provides exceptional opportunities for our students to explore their talents and passions beyond the traditional classroom setting. For instance, our Senior GATE students recently had the incredible opportunity to experience Virtual Reality Simulations at Entermission in Melbourne's CBD, enhancing their learning and expanding their horizons.
In addition to our innovative programs, we also prioritize community and worship within our college. Every three years, we hold a Mega Chapel where both Junior School and Senior School students come together for a powerful and uplifting experience. The most recent Mega Chapel, held on Tuesday, 18th July, was met with great excitement and expectation, creating a strong sense of unity and fellowship among our students.

"Absolutely a rubbish school, there are so many kids there that think they are entitled to everything, teachers are very rude. If there was an option for no stars I’d definitely chose that! Also for stuff like Inter school sports they are very strict on the rules and not trying to let the kids have a bit of fun. Overall send your kids here if you want them to have a horrible school life xoxox"
"Went to OC a few decades ago, early 1990's, for 3 years. It wasn't all bad, some good memories, but a lot of room for improvement. Was bullied a lot. Was very strict, whilst neglecting the students mental and emotional well being and duty of care to students welfare, while pushing academics, like trying to fill a broken cup with water :/ I had untreated depression and anxiety and dreaded going each day. I could have done without the whole christian propaganda, bible classes, chapel / church services, but when your a kid, you have no choice in the matter. Its been a long while now and i often wonder what became of my former class mates, i hope their lives turned out well :) All those years spent/(wasted?) in school, never prepared us for life, but at least i know that osmosis is the capitol of Istanbul. Its a head full of great information like this, that has helped me, manage my budgets, deal with mental illness and work a job that i hate ;p "We note with you that College surveys routinely show that up to 90% of ....families... are very happy with Oxley, with only 2% dissatisfied." Survey the kids as opposed to the families/parents and you will get a different result, especially once they leave and have some perspective and independence. Sadly the education system in general focus's on academics whilst neglecting students mental health. Going to OC only added to my stress levels, as they tried to impress the importance of various things that had no real world application and have for the most part been forgotten! Many years wasted imo. I emailed OC at their suggestion to discuss my review but they never got back to me :/"
"I have come to this school. When you come to this school you don't get warnings. you get detentions or after schools straight away. If you are delayed in your learning you are pusshed so that the school will get higher success rates. Not to mention all the staff being rude to the students for no reason. Don't come to this school it wont be fun."
"Bitterly disappointed and personally felt as though the application process including the “readiness for school interview” was a complete waste of our time, effort and money and inconsistent, calculated and intentional (discriminated against). My husband and I had initially booked in a school tour which we were satisfied with, which is why we decided to proceed with the application process for our son to start prep at Oxley College for 2023. We soon received confirmation that we were required to attend a “readiness for school interview” and were required to bring our son in with us as it was suggested that the educators required to further assess him (however none of the other children who were in our sons class that attended Oxley Kids were required to attend). I would like to note also, that we were advised that all children who attended Oxley Kids were supposed to have preferential treatment over other general applicants. Naturally, when we attended the interview, our son was unsure with his surroundings and was slightly distracted and inquisitive and intrigued with everything around him. Within this interview experience, we were told not one thing positive about our child. Comments such as (according to their observation) “he doesn’t have an established grip and by now should have this, his fine motor skills require attention (due to his supposed inability in cutting a straight line/curved line), and we’re then told to engage OT services and also a paediatrician. And that basically summarised our interview. My husband and I couldn’t wait to leave the room. To say our experience was completely unenjoyable is a complete understatement. After allowing some time to process our experience, I made contact with the Registrar to understand what was to come post our interview, as we had absolutely no idea what the process was next. Is our son accepted? I then received a response that again left us feeling nothing but complete disappointment. The educators made the decision that according to their prerequisites that our son was not deemed “ready for school”. And in the communication the only option for us was for these educators to do another assessment at some stage in Term 3 and to reassess his “readiness”. I expressed my disappointment and requested that the educators were to do another assessment on our son however in his kindergarten environment again however requested that this was to happen again straight away as opposed to waiting until term 3 as most schools will have already completed their enrolments and would have left us with alternative options. I heard nothing back, until I received a letter via mail from the Principal (whom we have never seen, heard from or met). In this letter the principal said “our son did not display readiness in the interview and if he was to not display readiness at the other term 3 assessment, then Oxley College would not be in a position to offer enrolment. It may therefore be prudent to also be considering other enrolment options”. I would also like to note that other parents that enrolled their children at Oxley College were provided very similar feedback however Oxley College have accepted their enrolment. By this point, my husband and I agreed that Oxley College was not the school for our son. We felt that our experience was calculated, intentional and that our son was being discriminated against. Thankfully we have found a school that has been nothing but welcoming and inclusive. When we met with the principal of the school we are sending our son to, we had mentioned our experience that we had had and his response was, your son is absolutely ready for school and it is Oxley College’s loss and our gain. We never heard back from Oxley College from this point forward. No updates on another assessment and no updates on the status of the enrolment (regardless of us already making a decision that Oxley College was not the school for our son). So thank you Oxley College for exposing your school for exactly what it is."
"terrible school. I was a student and it was horrible. Most of the teachers especially Mrs MacDonald were extremely rude and mean. Tons of bullies too. Also, extremely limited areas to play in break time. No playground, Too crowded, extremely strict and the buildings were hot trash. There are so many better schools that will save for tens of thousands of dollars a year on school fees. Do not send your children here as it is not a good experience."
