About Glen Waverley Secondary College
Welcome to Glen Waverley Secondary College, a prestigious institution located in the heart of Glen Waverley, Australia. As an establishment, point of interest, and secondary school, we pride ourselves on providing a top-notch education to our students.
At GWSC, we celebrate the achievements of our students and staff members. Our Intermediate Girls' Badminton Team recently brought glory to our school by being crowned the 2023 'School Sport Victoria' State Champions. We also commend Daisy Robinson, a Year 10 student, for representing Victoria in the 'School Sport Australia' National U15 AFL Championships.
Giving back to the community is an integral part of our school culture. We hosted our ninth annual 'Poverty Awareness Week' to raise awareness and funds for Oaktree and FoodBank, organizations that support impoverished communities worldwide. Additionally, we foster inclusivity and multiculturalism through events like the 'AFL Unity Cup,' where over two hundred students formed teams to play a modified version of AFL against CALD communities from all over Victoria.
GWSC is not only focused on sports and community service but also excels in the field of STEM. For the second consecutive year, our Year 9 Research Science 'STEM' Team emerged as National Champions in the 'F1 AusGP' STEM Challenge, held in conjunction with the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix.
We believe in the power of connections and maintaining strong ties within our school community. That's why we are developing an alumni program called 'GAP' to help our former students and staff members stay connected with each other and with our school.
To keep everyone informed about the various clubs, societies, programs, committees, networks, and crews at GWSC, we have launched our 'GWSC Clubs' Website. This platform provides students, parents/guardians, and staff with all the necessary information. Discover more about our exciting clubs by clicking on the 'Read More' button below.
At Glen Waverley Secondary College, we strive for excellence in education, sports, community engagement, and STEM. Join us on this journey of growth and success by becoming a part of our vibrant school community.

Reviews of Glen Waverley Secondary College
"Been here 5 years of my life and about to graduate next year but there have been ups and downs, but I had a whole lifetime of fun here (excluding COVID). I caused trouble and learned my lesson, made connections and kept exploring new passions, met new people and friends I wanna spend the rest of my time with after highschool, and did new hobbies and joined clubs that taught me life skills. If I could restart how life was here I would barely change anything. Education can be tough and teacheds can be worse but I chose what I love and that got me to meet the right groups. If you wanna join, the education is good, teachers alright, facilities great (except the hall needs touchups). But school is an experience not just for the benefits but also the experience you get."
"Just a thought from me to the other reviewers and people viewing this: DONT EXCEPT A PUBLIC SCHOOL TO BE PERFECT ok listen, even though this school achieves good scores blah blah blah and people complain about it it in the comments. What do you expect? You dont pay a cent you get what you pay for. And for those complaining about uniform, UNIFORM IS UNIFORM. Those people in private schools have it worse than you and yet you still complain."
"They did not let me sell my rhubarbs here. I want to freely sell my rhubarbs and they did not allow it. The whiter, blonde canteen lady is a big (and I mean REALLY big) fat Karen who did not let me sell rhubarbs at the canteen. I did enjoy the farm though as they let me plant my rhubarbs. That made me happy but I will escape soon..."
"DO NOT COME TO THIS SCHOOL. Only came here for the education however the school is a horrible environment. Teachers only care about detentions, they give detentions even with parent emails. Don't know how half of these teachers are even teachers and please do not start on the nurse. She's horrible and hates kids yet somehow continues her job? I got laughed at when I asked if my wrist was broken, guess what It was. Uniform rules are stupid! Why should year 10+ have to change into PE uniform? While 7-9's are able to wear it for the whole day. It doesn't seem fair. Uniform is uniform. They deal with situations horribly, they seem to think the only way to deal with things is with after school detentions? The canteen woman whos the boss with the bun yells at the kids and when I asked to switch my item, which i had just purchased and DID NOT touch, or eat, I didn't even step out of line, she came and barged into my conversation with the other canteen lady. She said it wasn't allowed and when i said it wasn't fair, she SNATCHED it from my hands and put it into the bin. I also don't know how teachers think they have so much authority. Somehow, the student is always in the wrong, no matter what. Teachers dont let students talk and if a teacher reports a student for being disrespectful, they don't even bother hearing your side of the story. They also make students miss a period of class to go pick up rubish around the school. Overall horrible school they do not care about your education, they care about your uniform, how late you are and your 'respect' for teachers. 0/5."
"Nurse is really mean for no reason most teachers are nice enough but some really just wake up everyday and choose to ruin every students' day. Middle school receptionist is really unhelpful and mean senior school receptionist is really sweet and nice. This school does not take bullying seriously AT ALL. They say they don't reveal any bullying matters to avoid other students getting inspiration from them and doing the same thing which is fair enough. They should however, reveal the consequences without names. The person who reported the behavior deserves some closure."
