About the Business
Welcome to The Cheshire School, located at Glen Waverley, Woodlea Drive, 16 in Australia. We are an establishment and point of interest that specializes in providing education for primary aged students with complex social, emotional, and behavioral difficulties.
At Cheshire School, our main goal is to act as a "stepping stone" for our students, helping them successfully reintegrate into mainstream schools with a healthy self-esteem, established work habits, and acceptable ways of behaving and managing challenging situations.
Our program at Cheshire School has been specifically designed to focus on the personal and social capabilities of our students, helping them become successful learners and healthy citizens of our community. We offer targeted learning opportunities that aim to underpin their development in various areas.
While we prioritize English and Mathematics, our curriculum also includes integrated and inquiry units to ensure that each student receives a comprehensive education. With small class sizes and a high student-to-teacher ratio, we provide a unique and personalized learning experience for every child.
At Cheshire School, we believe in building strong collaborative relationships with parents and carers to support our students' growth and build their confidence. Our lessons are engaging and based on the Australian Curriculum used in mainstream schools, ensuring that your child stays on track with their education.
Beyond the core academic curriculum, we encourage our students to make deeper connections with their learning by organizing regular excursions. Additionally, our students participate in a range of additional activities such as meditation, warrior fitness, and yoga to develop self-regulation skills.
We would also like to acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island peoples as Australia's First People and Traditional Custodians of the land. Specifically, we pay our respects to the Bunurong People of the Kulin Nation, on whose land we are fortunate to live and learn as the Cheshire School community today. We are committed to a spirit of respect, mutual understanding, and reconciliation as we live and learn together.
Lastly, we would like to express our gratitude to the organizations that support Cheshire School. Without their support, we would not be able to provide our vital intervention program. If you would like to contribute to our ongoing work, there are many ways to do so.
Join us at The Cheshire School and provide your child with a supportive and enriching educational experience.

"Wow, It's been 6 whole years since I was enrolled here, and my god was it amazing. I will always miss this school. I was enrolled at this school in early 2016, and my teacher at the time was a lovely woman named Lisa, who ended up leaving about 6 months after I joined. This school was nothing short of amazing. The teachers were extremely kind, patient, and understanding. They would always listen to what you had to say, and always cared about the actual education of their students. I'd like to share a few memories about my time at Cheshire. I remember me and my friends at the school used to always to love to play Roblox on the school computers at the time, but we could only play games on their if we did our work, so it was an amazing incentive to listen and interact. I remember the everyday meditation we did with the schools wellbeing teacher, Darren. Darren, if you are still at this school and somehow reading this, I love you man. I remember the fortnightly excursions, the times the fire brigade came over to teach us about fire safety. I remember playing in the sandpit and making a massive civilisation with the friends I made along the way. Staff of Cheshire School, If you are reading this, I want to say thank you so much for the amazing experience you guys gave me. It REALLY helped me grow as a person, and helped so much with controlling and understanding my ADHD and Autism more. Special Thanks To: - Kylie Jackson - Helen Barrett - Jenn Daverington - Darren Ball On behalf of myself, and the rest of the students at Cheshire School from 2015-2017; Thank You."
"It was a great school, it’s been about 5 years since I was enrolled there and it was such a great experience, I hope that some of the teachers I knew are still there, hello Darren."
"So grateful for this school. We were lost before we found Chesire. No school was able or willing to help our child. Like most parents dealing with autism, we would get daily calls from the school to pick him up early daily (they couldn't deal with him). This put a massive strain on my wife and our ability to live. He was treated like an "other". Helpless. Cheshire have taught him basic life skills that will help settle him into the traditional school system while celebrating the quirks that make him so unique. Don't get me started on the teachers, wow, what an incredible bunch of humans doing amazing things for our community. With gratitude, Tony Zoobi"
