Welcome to Mentone Park Primary School, located at 1-7 Broome Avenue in Mentone, Australia. Our school is not only an establishment and a point of interest, but also a primary school dedicated to providing quality education to our students.

We are proud to have a strong and supportive community that came together during our recent Colour Spectacular event to raise funds for new computers in our Middle School. Thanks to the amazing generosity of the Mentone Park Primary School Community, we have raised over $3800 for the Red Nose Day Appeal, which will support research and families affected by Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

One exciting update is the completion of our new Junior School building. This stunning structure pays homage to our past, present, and future, with a giant eagle winged roofline representing Bunjil the Creator, as well as a passive play space and Yarning Circle. At Mentone Park Primary School, we are committed to igniting a passion for learning and preparing our students for the future. We are thrilled to announce that after months of construction and planning, our brand new learning space is almost ready for our Junior School students to begin their educational journey in this state-of-the-art facility.

In response to extensive research, discussions with staff and school council, and feedback from our community, we are excited to introduce Auslan (Australian Sign Language) to our curriculum starting in 2023. This decision reflects our commitment to inclusivity and providing a well-rounded education for all our students.

Our Green Gang leaders, dedicated to environmental and sustainability initiatives, recently presented a video at the Kingston Big Green Schools Conference, showcasing the fantastic food growing, composting, and waste reducing projects happening at Mentone Park Primary School. We are incredibly proud of the work our students are doing to make a positive impact on the environment.

Thanks to the generous support of our community, we have recently purchased a wide variety of books to be shared across the school. Our selection includes popular titles such as Pig the Pug, Bluey, Disney Twisted Tales, and picture story books, as well as books on Minecraft, Harry Potter, Zac Powers, Pokemon, and the Bad Guys series. We believe in fostering a love for reading and providing diverse literary options for our students.

To ensure effective planning and professional development, we have scheduled several curriculum days and professional practice days throughout the year. These days allow our staff to engage in targeted learning and focus on areas such as numeracy, reporting, and assessment. We believe in continuous improvement and providing the best educational experience for our students.
