Reviews
"I was diagnosed in 2016 with cancer that had metastisized and was given a 50/50 chance of survival within one year. It is now 2019 and while I have been to the bottom and back again I have nothing but praise for the team at Northern Haematology & Oncology Group. Dr Arthur Clements is my Oncologist and my husband and I count ourselves extremely lucky to have found ourselves under his care along with the partners in the practice. They are all extremely progressive with treatments and I know that I would not be around today it we had not put our trust in him and his team. The support staff specifically the ladies in the front of office have the most amazing dispositions and so accommodating in every way. My husband and I have phoned on many occasions when I was in a bad way and they are always so empathetic and accomodating."
"This is a review for both prospective patients and the entire staff at this organization. You have a very dangerous and negligent doctor, by the name of Grace Gifford working there. This woman was a nightmare at the Royal North Shore hospital, and those above her could not wait for her to leave. My husband was being treated by a team of great doctors for leukemia. Upon meeting Grace, my husband and I immediately decided not to go anywhere near her for treatment. So erratic did she seem , even without the pressure of an actual life death situation. A year later, she killed my husband Alton Brammer, by a slew of careless, novice mistakes during some very routine procedures unconnected to leukemia. He had WON the battle with lukemia, thanks to the great care and pristine attention of his doctors. However a year after his transplant, he was so thin and losing weight, we went for some tests. We had no choice but for them to be done by Grace Gifford. She gave him a liver biopsy and he had fluid on his abdomen for which she did a ' tap ' . This is a very routine procedure. When I came to pick up my husband he was in so much pain he was in a wheel chair. Grace deemed him fit to leave. The head doctor Keith Fe said to her , '' Are you sure ... I think we should keep him another day " and she said nope he's fit to leave... he ate all his lunch .... And so he was discharged. Unlike all the doctors above her, who had always given me their direct phone numbers.. she refused. Even knowing we lived three hours away. The next day my husband started coughing up blood. Grace Gifford had punctured his abdomen during a routine stomach tap he'd had done with her, and he was dying. She had also put him on warfarin right after having a liver biospy. By the time we got to the hospital he was half there only.. She left him sitting a ward for several hours. It was the nurse who called Intensive Care.. She ignored my request for him to go to the abdominal ward saying ' They think they know everything " I will stop now but this woman is a nightmare. She lacks so many things that should be a pre requisite for any doctor working at the life and death level. She does not listen to her superiors, she does not listen to her patients, she uses quick rash judgements without listening to her gut. She has no intuition because is it vanguished by her ego, which just wants to ' be right ' and ' be the smartest one in the room' ... She is a dangerous cocktail of disaster. It calls into question The Northern Haematology Group if you see fit to hire this quality of doctor. By her very demeanour she clearly lacks the qualities needed in this level of care."
