Reviews of Jamieson Way Campus, Carranballac College
"Move right now, lot's of dirty minded people, not good for little children, I rather sue this school..."
"Honestly, the school is not a good one, I have experienced it as a CRT, just in one day I found 12 problems in the CRT notes left for me, the classroom assistant regularly working with a student from the class was not able to help sort out the problems, the next-door same -grade teacher the same, even dishonest: 1-Reading lesson plan, claimed to be left but wasn't. 2-Informational text cards - left for the CRT to make, how? 3-writing lesson: a daily editing task, materials not provided 4-writing pretest included students watching a video, not possible to run since no I received only an ipad, no USB/HTMI ports nor any equipment around to make it go ahead. 5-6-the original teacher left the dice game task, never mentioned in the instructions the task nor dice was provided, 20 minutes was spent with students and 2 next-door teachers before locating the dice jar. 7-Maths question cards were mentioned in the instructions but nothing was provided nor given a topic for the card questions, had to skip it. 8-Mats two worksheet tasks were provided but nowhere mentioned in the instructions from the original teacher 9-10 -the original teacher allegedly booked the library last session, we checked with a librarian, he didn't book it but the whole class, I mean literally all students, were saying they have Interschool Sports timetabled for the last session, so we asked the Interschool Sport organizing teacher to clarify it, so we ended up doing Interschool Sports like all Y5-6 grades, including our Y6 class. The original teacher wrote 9 out of 25 lines of his notes for the whole day on the BEHAVIORAL MANAGEMENT of the grade 6 class given to me, talking about the 5 disruptive characters from the group that need an extra attention, the librarian during the day said there are a lot of naughty kids in that class that she was concerned of the disruptive behavior in the library and kids not following reasonable instructions. Before I even started session 1, the Principal came in and talked to the class that today they have to show a respect as they don't have their original teacher, and at the end of the day she again came to talk to them, some of the kids were even rowdy in front of her. I have had nothing but fun and excellent experiences with other schools apart from this one, especially their Jamieson Way campus."
"I was attending Point Cook Jamieson Way as the first decade of my education, from that experience I can detail that: Teachers vary greatly in the effort and respect for all classes. Often teachers in higher grades (7-9) will apply themselves more in there teaching. Youth teachers (grade 1-4) will apply themselves often to the best of their ability, but often with bias. Mid-age teachers (5-6) are most likely to cause issues in education and neglect of their students. Bullying within the school is a common issue most students will face, often discriminatory of ones race, religion and capabilities. Though this is an issue all schools will face, Jamison Way is especially neglectful of the bullying issue, never providing help for those who are victim of it. The general education provide by Jamison Way is lacklustre and cannot be compared to other schools in the general vicinity. I thoroughly believe that Jamison Way must be lacking in either management/authority and/or funding as the quality of education is subpar. Support for students who have problems caused by the school are often offered little to no emotional support and/or advice. Furthermore I was informed by anonymous students who once also attended the school that they were also frequently mocked by school officials about their problems. The school has issues with facilities such as toilets and water taps, though these issues are hard to manage, and I believe the school has put decent effort into fixing those issues, they are still problems nonetheless."
"I believe this is a great school! It has well kept facilities, great and friendly staff, and has enriching education opportunities. Would recommend!"
