Welcome to Canowindra Year 9 Centre, located in Taylors Lakes, Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, we are proud to be a part of the renowned Overnewton Anglican Community College.

Our Year 9 program was established in 1997 with the aim of providing a unique educational experience for our students. We believe that this age group, typically 14-15 years old, is going through a transformative period in their lives, both spiritually and socially. Our center offers a special environment where students can focus on their personal development while still maintaining social interactions with their peers.

At Canowindra Year 9 Centre, we have a small community of 180 students, creating a close-knit and supportive atmosphere. Our team of specialist staff is dedicated to meeting the needs of middle adolescents and providing them with the necessary support and guidance during this crucial stage of their lives. We see each student as an individual who deserves personal attention and care.

Our integrated, hands-on program encourages active participation and collaboration, allowing students to become personally involved in their education. We believe in nurturing lifelong learners and instilling strong Christian values in our students.

Leadership is an important aspect of our Year 9 program. Unlike traditional models, our approach is inclusive and open to all students. Through an application process, students have the opportunity to develop themselves and their peers as members of the Year 9 Leadership Team. This team has the creative freedom to develop unique and relevant opportunities that align with our college values of Learning, Environment, Community, Respect, and Co-Curricular Shields: Encore, Be Heard, Activate, and Synergy.

The Year 9 Leadership Team meets regularly to allocate roles and responsibilities and discuss initiatives that enhance the Year 9 experience for all students. We believe in empowering our students to take ownership of their education and create a positive impact within our community.
