As the local population continues to grow, we aim to offer a convenient and accessible educational option for families in the area.

With a capacity to accommodate up to 148 students, Lollypop Creek Specialist School is committed to delivering specialized educational programs tailored to meet the specific needs of each individual student. As part of the 2022-23 State Budget, the school received a significant allocation of $527.233 million for the development of new schools, ensuring that we have the resources to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

Enrollment at Lollypop Creek Specialist School is subject to specific criteria, and students must undergo a comprehensive assessment to determine their eligibility. The school welcomes students with diagnosed intellectual disabilities that align with the enrollment criteria, including those with co-occurring health conditions or other disabilities. We have designed our facilities to cater to a range of needs, ensuring that every student receives the support they require to thrive academically and personally.

We prioritize applications based on proximity to the school if accommodation is limited, but we consider eligible students from all areas.

While transportation to and from the school is the responsibility of parents, we provide additional travel assistance through various programs. The conveyance allowance supports transport costs, including public transport expenses, and we can provide more information about this support. Additionally, students within the designated transport area may be eligible for transport assistance through the Students with Disabilities Transport Program. We encourage students to use active travel options such as walking or cycling to school whenever possible, and discounted travel options are available for public transport use.

At Lollypop Creek Specialist School, we value community engagement and inclusivity. The school's name, Nganboo Borron, was chosen following a two-week community consultation. Nganboo Borron, which means "children first, nurturing on your shoulder" in Wadawurrung language, reflects our commitment to prioritizing the well-being and development of our students.

Our principal, Michele Marcu, brings over 20 years of experience in the education and disability sectors. With a passion for ensuring all students have access to the best possible programs and supports, Michele is dedicated to creating a culture of inclusion at Nganboo Borron School. Throughout 2023, she looks forward to connecting with the community and fostering strong relationships.

Lollypop Creek Specialist School offers modern learning areas equipped with air conditioning and heating, ensuring a comfortable and conducive learning environment. Outside, shade sails provide protection from the sun, allowing students to enjoy outdoor activities safely. Sustainability is a key focus, and we have designed the school to be environmentally friendly and easy to manage.

In developing this new school, we have worked closely with the Wadawurrung Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation to ensure cultural sensitivity and endorsement of the design. We are grateful for their collaboration and respect for the land on which our school stands.
