Our pink slips usually take around 20-30 minutes to complete, and the cost, set by Service NSW (or RMS, Roads and Maritime Services), is $43 including GST. Once your vehicle passes the eSafety check, our mechanic will send the results electronically directly to the RMS.

Please note that additional expenses may arise during eSafety checks if items such as globes or windscreen wipers need replacing. Blue slips, also known as 'Authorised Unregistered Vehicle Inspections', are available at Randalls for $69, as set by the RMS. These inspections typically take around 40 minutes, and the results will be sent electronically to the RMS.

At Randalls, we understand that you have the right to choose your own repairer. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) stipulates that consumers can select a qualified mechanic of their choice who can stamp their service logbook while still maintaining warranty. You are not locked into the manufacturer's warranty unless you accept an extended warranty from your dealer.

For major services, which are usually recommended at milestones set in your logbook, such as 5 years or 50,000km, we advise allowing a minimum of 4 hours. The duration of the service may vary depending on factors such as mileage, wear and tear, logbook requirements, the size of the car, and the time since the last service. We can provide an estimate after inspecting your vehicle and the service logbook.

Any additional work that may arise during the service will be discussed and quoted with you directly before proceeding. We believe in transparency and will always inform you if any additional issues need attention. It is important to note that adding unsolicited work, such as changing four new tyres or suspension, when booked in for a different service is unlawful.

Please be aware that we are unable to service LPG fitted cars and modern electric cars like Tesla at Randalls. These vehicles require specialist qualified mechanics. Additionally, we can perform pink slips for motorcycles and scooters, but we do not offer servicing for them. Vehicles over 3,500kg will also need an industrial-sized hoist and cannot be serviced at Randalls.

In some cases, certain cars may have issues that are not worth fixing. At Randalls, we have established relationships with wreckers, tow truck drivers, and used car dealers. From time to time, we may purchase vehicles in these situations.

When it comes to quoting jobs, it is challenging to do so based solely on images. However, in special circumstances where the car is not mobile, we may be able to provide advice over the phone. We recommend contacting your insurance company in such cases for further guidance.

If your vehicle requires new tires, we have a supplier who can deliver a wide range of options at competitive prices. We also have the necessary equipment to fix most punctures. If you encounter a nail in your tire, please leave it in before bringing your car to us.
