Our bush kinder program takes inspiration from forest schools in Norway, where there is a saying that there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing. At Batman Park Kindergarten, our educators aim to bring this philosophy to life by immersing children in nature along the banks of the Merri Creek. Our program allows children to learn while exploring the natural environment, encouraging them to investigate, take risks, and connect with nature.
Currently, our bush kinder program is available for two of our four-year-old kindergarten groups. Children enrolled in this program spend one 3-hour session at our bush kinder location each week and two 6-hour sessions in our kinder rooms.
Please note that all applications for Batman Park Kindergarten are managed by Darebin Council's Centralised Kindergarten and Childcare Registration System. The council operates a centralised waiting list for all community-managed funded three and four-year-old kindergarten programs within the municipality.

"I came here for a tour and the lady that did the tour was lovely, but the person that I had the initial contact with was a middle-aged woman with short white hair with pink highlight stripes, I believe she is one of the educators there, she was very rude and hostile with me. That's such a great first impression! If she is that aggressive with me when I didn't do anything then how would she treat my child. I can't help but wonder if she picked on me because of my race because all I did was ringing the bell (once) when I arrived and she showed up at the door and yelled at me."
