About the Business
Welcome to Mordialloc Preschool, a beloved institution located at 26 Park Street in Mordialloc, Australia. Formerly known as TRY Australia, we are now Sparkways! This change reflects our continued commitment to empowering and inspiring Melbourne's children and young people since 1883.
At Mordialloc Preschool, we believe in creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child can thrive. We have received glowing feedback from parents who are thrilled with the experience their children have had at our preschool. Whether they are in the four-year-old group or the three-year-old group, our students love coming to kinder and feel a real sense of belonging and connection.
Our dedicated kindergarten teachers are passionate about their work and find it dynamic, creative, and inspiring. They understand the importance and uniqueness of each child and provide a stimulating environment that enhances their self-esteem through a play-based program. We follow best early childhood practices and focus on developmental areas, children's interests, abilities, and environmental influences.
Through our programming, we encourage children to progress in various areas, including motor skills, language ability, cognitive development, and social and emotional skills. We aim to build their awareness and curiosity about the world around them, preparing them for school and life experiences.
Our goal is for your child to enjoy their time with us and achieve their best possible outcomes. We believe in building on their natural way of learning through play. In our fun, happy, and safe environment, your child will feel at home, whether they have attended a preschool before or not.
Our beautiful Kindergarten, rebuilt in 2015, is set in parkland alongside the picturesque Mordialloc Creek. With modern facilities and light-filled rooms, our kindergarten provides a welcoming space for learning and growth. We have two kindergarten rooms and a beautifully landscaped yard inspired by the Australian bush.
We are excited to be a part of the Victorian Government's initiative to make kindergarten programs free for three and four-year-old children starting from 2023. This reform, known as Free Kinder, aims to provide every child with the best start in life. It will save families up to $2,500 per year for their child's program.
At Mordialloc Preschool, we understand that every child is unique and develops at their own pace. Toilet training is not a requirement for attending our kindergarten. If your child shows an interest in the toilet, our educators will work with you and provide assistance along the way. We also prioritize sun safety and provide child-friendly sunscreen, but feel free to provide your preferred brand if your child has sensitive skin.
We acknowledge and pay our respects to the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work, as well as to Elders past and present. We celebrate diversity and value the lived experience of people from every ethnicity, faith, age, disability, culture, language, gender identity, and sexual orientation.
Join us at Mordialloc Preschool and be a part of a movement dedicated to empowering and inspiring Victoria's children and young people. Experience our warm and inviting atmosphere, dedicated teachers, and stimulating play-based program. Your child's journey towards readiness for school and life experiences starts here.

"Love this kindergarten! My daughter can't wait to get to kinder and has has made some lovely friends. The teachers are great and the facilities are top class. Highly recommended."
"Turning a blind eye to protect bullies and harasses. Law of the jungle prevails!! This is not the way to go!! If the system will allow me I would give 0 stars."
"Love this cute little pre-school and stoked to see in the paper they have funding for building a new one. Teachers are terrific and a key to why we have sent our two little ones here, we will miss out on the new building but I'm sure the new diggs will not change the wonderful community spirit the kinder has. Keep up the great work, if we manage to have another baby I will definitely send it here."
