Peninsula Grammar Early Childhood Centre
About the Business
Welcome to Peninsula Grammar Early Childhood Centre, located at 50 Wooralla Drive in Mount Eliza, Australia. As an establishment and point of interest, our school is dedicated to providing a nurturing and inspiring environment for young learners.
At the heart of Peninsula Grammar lies a community of likeminded people who are unified in their desire to see everyone succeed. For many members of our community, this journey begins at our kindergarten, which is a crucial time in the social and emotional development of all children.
Our kindergartens are vibrant and full of joy. Our dynamic and experienced educators inspire our students to learn about themselves and the world around them through a developmental play-based curriculum. No two days are ever the same as we instill a love of learning and connection in all that we do.
From Gumboot Walks down to the creek to Clarke Centre Library visits and Junior Gym activities, our students are challenged to engage and develop their skills of curiosity and creativity for authentic learning outcomes.
We have a strong foundation based on Positive Education, which informs our rigorous wellbeing programs with a focus on developing social and emotional skills and awareness. When you belong to Peninsula Grammar Kindergarten, you become part of a wider school community that inspires and connects learners of all ages.
Our program is based on a developmental approach and the belief that children learn best through play. We follow the school's mission and core values, nurturing and inspiring children to strive for excellence. We aim to support and develop the children's emotional resilience, social confidence, self-motivation, persistence, and resourcefulness.
An important part of our philosophy is forming strong partnerships with parents. We recognize that parents are aware of their own children's development and can share vital information that provides a link between home and kindergarten.
Our curriculum is guided by the School's principles of Positive Psychology, focusing on the strengths and virtues that enable individuals and communities to thrive. Through this approach, children are given opportunities to develop optimism, engagement, and happiness, where learning is fostered through positive and authentic relationships with their teachers and the wider community.
Our indoor and outdoor learning environments allow children to learn through exploration and experimentation in a multi-modal space. They have opportunities to work independently and in groups, allowing them to develop and strengthen their social and emotional skills.
We are proud to share that in May 2021, our kindergartens received an Exceeding National Quality Standard rating in all 7 areas, as assessed by the Australian Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) continuous improvement plan.
Our curriculum has been influenced by renowned early childhood educators such as Maria Montessori, Piaget, Froebel, Steiner, Gardner, De Bono, and the educators of Reggio Emilia in Italy and Forest Kindergartens in Denmark. We also incorporate the positive psychology practices that Peninsula Grammar is embedding in the school-wide curriculum.
To truly experience Peninsula Grammar's unique learning environments and our curriculum in action, we encourage you to explore our campus. You can start the enrollment process by submitting an Online Application for Enrolment and providing the required documentation to place your child on the list of applicants.
Join us at Peninsula Grammar Early Childhood Centre, where we believe in teaching children to care about each other, have empathy, and show kindness and gratitude, enabling them to flourish in the kindergarten environment.
