Darling Nest Child Care Centre 1 Little Pier Street, Haymarket, New South Wales 2000
About the Business
Welcome to Darling Nest Child Care Centre, located in Haymarket, Little Pier Street, Australia. Our institution is a point of interest and a school, dedicated to providing quality education and care for children of Commonwealth Bank direct employees and the general community. We understand the importance of convenience for working parents, which is why our location allows Commonwealth Bank employees to work near their children and visit them during the day, creating extra quality time with their little ones and fostering a wonderful community feel within our centre.
At Darling Nest, we celebrate childhood. We believe that from their very first moment, children are absorbing information and learning from the world and the people around them. Through play and exploration, children's imagination and curiosity are sparked, and they enjoy learning and are inspired to continue learning more.
Our aim is to provide an early education environment that prepares, inspires, and motivates children to be inquirers and explorers on their learning journey. Our play-based program intentionally provides opportunities and activities based upon the Early Years Learning Framework, allowing your child to discover and pursue their own interests and strengths.
Our dedicated educators work in genuine partnership with children, encouraging them to laugh, think, question, and learn. As they make connections with each other and build warm, trusting relationships with our team, their sense of self and confidence grows.
We embrace the diversity of all children and recognize that they bring their unique experiences, perspectives, expectations, knowledge, and skills to our centre. Our inclusive program offers a wide variety of learning experiences and activities, specifically designed to promote children’s confidence as capable, active participants in their own learning.
We strongly encourage active participation from families and offer frequent opportunities for parents to contribute their skills and interests to the program. We value the strong relationships between our staff, children, and families and look forward to including your family in the life of our centre.
Our centre has been independently assessed by the NSW Department of Education under the National Quality Standards and is proud to be rated as Meeting the National Quality Standard. But what matters most to us is what our families think. We believe that the best outcomes for children are created within relationships and interactions between children and staff, and children and their families.
Our centre is fully air-conditioned indoors and boasts two spacious outdoor playgrounds for children to explore. Designed to maximize the use of the natural environment, our playgrounds allow children to play and explore as they would in their own backyard. We offer stimulating activities that arouse children’s curiosity and encourage them to choose from a variety of planned experiences, expanding their learning potential.
Erika, our university-trained teacher with over 12 years of experience in the early years sector, leads our team. With a strong background in ESL teaching, family day care, community and corporate centres, school readiness groups, and kindergarten classes, Erika's professional philosophy is Reggio inspired. She strongly believes that the environment plays a major role in early childhood education and is passionate about promoting sustainability, environmental issues, and children's nutrition with her team.
As a mother herself, Erika respects that families are children's first teachers and considers families a vital aspect of her program. This is evident in our centre's day-to-day communication with families.
Our team of early childhood educators shares a passion for high-quality early education. They are qualified, experienced, caring, and dedicated professionals, each holding specialist qualifications in early childhood education. We believe that the positive interactions children have with our staff are the most important component of our high-quality program.
Our fees are designed to cover the operational costs of delivering the unique KU learning experience. As a not-for-profit provider, KU remains committed to providing the best early education for children and ensuring that we can continue delivering those experiences for many years to come.

Reviews
"With the removal of Anna Windeyer from the company, a complete transformation has occurred where parents are no longer penalised for their children being sick. Parents aren't threatened with hospitalisation if they don't pickup their child within an unreasonably short window of minutes not hours. The staff appear to be happier and more content in their jobs. Very happy to see the previous draconian policies (that had numerous complaints raised) have been removed and the give and take between parent and child care restored."
