Reviews of The Old City Bank Bar and Brasserie
"This restaurant was highly recommended by our tour guide. However, I think it was not for such any kind of commission related thing. Restaurants looks really old-style of Australian restaurant so you can feel a restaurant of old style one in countryside. Staffs were really kind and food were even really nice. One more advantage here is price is also reasonable. I strongly believe that you will not regret. I think Australia is really a heaven for food-lover. nice beef, good atmosphere, and so on. ——- I visited here while I was under tour for blue mountain."
"I love eating at pubs and this pub met the same expectations. Friendly services by smiling waiters and waitresses, big food proportions and prices that are reasonable. We came in a group of six - four adults and two kids. We ordered: Beef and Ale Pie 2x Barramundi Prawn Fettuccine Garlic Cob Chicken Nuggets and Chips kids meal Beef Burger kids meal My Prawn Fettuccine had 8 medium size prawns. The only let down was they put so much capers that it made the dish salty and pushes the dish flavour out of balance. The barramundi my wife had was well cooked and not dry."
"I ate here on a Wednesday evening 7pm with my family. Cute venue, plenty of charm and clean. There were approximately 40 patrons. We were travelling through and we were all eating light. We shared the Mixed Leaf Salad With Persian Fetta, Chickpea Soft Shell Tacos with fermented bean dressing, Wild Mushroom Arancini and the Onion Rings with chipotle mayo. The salad was the best of all the dishes. It was well dressed with a generous serve of crumbled fetta. Good acidity. Both the arancini and the onion rings were perfectly fried. Light and crisp. The arancini (serving of four) was lacking a little in the flavour department, but the accompanying roast capsicum relish got it over the line. The tacos (serving of two) were served cold, by design I believe. They were a healthy choice. Acceptable, but not so flavoursome that I would order them again. Order at bar, table service 30 minute wait, $47 for the lot. Beer on tap and good choice of wine. 3.5 stars. I’d go there again."
"Agree with all the other comments. The service is kind and super fast. It seems the chef's are really experienced and get things done very well. Nice local Katoomba beer as well, close to the train station and the shops. And the interior is like a travel through time. Really recommend if you are looking for pub food in the area. The schnitzel is great and portion sizes are big enough even for sharing."
