Bicycle Centre South Morang

"Not pleased. I have been to this store a number of times to buy parts, or have parts fixed/replaced. Every single time i have been in this store, despite the other staff being friendly, there is one man who works there, who may be the manager/owner based on how he speaks to the other staff, that is consistently rude, and speaks in a manner that does not motivate me to want to return to this business. If this bike store wasn't 500m from my house, I wouldnt have returned after the first time. Recently i dropped off a bike that needed the bottom bracket replaced. I was quoted $60. I was told the staff couldn't remove it, and broke one of their bottom bracket removal tools when attempting to. When I returned to pick up the bike, The owner/manager person told me I was under quoted, informed me the tool was broken a number of times, and was again visibly agitated. He then told me the bike was rubbish and I should throw it away. He then told me to pay $20 to cover "at least some of" the cost of the tool. Although I'd have been happy to pay for the time spent on the attempt, it was made to sound like I was a hindrance and the cost was purely to cover the tool. I then took the bike home, removed the bottom bracket myself (without need for a removal tool), ordered a new bottom bracket AND a bottom bracket tool off eBay, and repaired the bike myself for a grand total of $35. My daughter now happily rides the bike. I'd be happy to ride the bike to the store and show them I fixed what a bike store claims they couldn't, but I decided instead to leave a review. I grew up working on and riding bikes, and have been to many bike shops throughout my life. I took this problem to a bike store purely to save myself the time, which I don't have much of outside of work. There doesn't seem to be much passion for bikes at this business, and I would prefer to do it myself than give them any more of my business or money. Sad and disappointing. If you don't enjoy working on bikes, or appreciating that customers pay your bills, I wonder why they even open the doors."

"The service I received from Shannon was excellent. I bought my first bike from elsewhere (unfortunately) and one of the gear wires was loose. Took it here because it was closer and Shannon fixed the issue along with pumping up the tyres and fixing the brakes. Then they showed me how to put the bike in my car properly and remove and replace the front wheel. Really wonderful experience for a first timer."
