"posting this a few months late as I completely forgot to post about it! We dined here after plans in Richmond and found it very easy to walk in without a booking midweek! We tried a good range of the menu and I’ll share the hits and misses I found! What I’d reorder: ⭐️ Braised Pork Doughnuts (2pcs), Furikake Spice, Wasabi Mayonnaise: these were amazing and remind me of the dexter donuts but Japanese style- YUM ⭐️ MB9+ Wagyu Beef, Truffle Mayonnaise: like butter, bloody insanely good ⭐️ Aburi Salmon, Tobiko, Shichimi, Lemon: super yummy and perfectly cooked! ⭐️ Nama Panko Crusted Chicken, Japanese Curry, Steamed Rice (special): a great version of a katsu curry, the chicken was so crispy and delicious What I might reorder: ⭐️ Tasmanian Salmon Fillet, Saikyo Miso, Yuzu Rice, Pickles- a healthy meal but nothing too exciting to justify the $38 price tag ⭐️ Ezpz Cauliflower “Charcoals”, Galbi Glaze, Ginger, Chives- I meant to order the chicken but this was something completely different! Really innovative, maybe a bit too sweet for my liking but still good! ⭐️ Edamame: a classic What I personally wouldn’t reorder: ⭐️ Char Grilled Eye Fillet Tataki, Yuzu Mayonnaise, Mandarin Kosho: just found it not as exciting as the other dishes ⭐️ Hibachi Broccolini, Saikyo Miso, Lemon- could have done with some charring to increase the flavour- not outstanding Service was very attentive and I loved the open kitchen that you can watch everything be prepared! If I was in the area I may go back for the above dishes I enjoyed!"

"Great modern Japanese spot that has highly delicious unique offerings. Also extensive and well-rounded drinks list, and a lot of the menu caters well to dietary requirements of gluten-free, dairy free, vegetarian or vegan. Dishes that were highlights for us: - tea smoked salmon tartare - eye fillet tataki - pork doughnuts - roasted kabocha pumpkin (we were mopping up the miso cream) - salmon fillet (we ordered 2 and one had many fish bones, almost like it got missed, the other was a winner. Was perfectly cooked, seasoned and presented) Only downside was having the hibachi grill as part of their offering, the room we were sat in as a group got smoked out. Just needs better ventilation."

"Dined with 17 people for a birthday, chose the feed me well option. We were stuffed! Food was generous and delicious. Favourite was the pork doughnuts. Staff were friendly and attentive. Plenty of drink options, loved the umeshu and yuzushu flight options. Would recommend for large group dining."

"Drove past here one day so made it a point to book for the next Japanese(ish - as it's not a traditional Japanese restaurant) night. Overall, food was ok, service was great. Wasn't too busy on a Thursday night surprisingly (thanks RBA!) Ordered a variety of dishes, including the pork doughnuts, grilled cauliflower, few yakitoris (cuttlefish, salmon, mushroom, corn), the striploin steak, tofu doughnuts (complementary tart). Standout dishes include the tofu doughnuts, cuttlefish, mushroom. We thought the pork doughnuts were ok... And the grilled cauliflower disappointing (too sweet, not grilled enough). Overall the yakitoris we felt could have been grilled more. Corn and salmon were ok. The steak was the most disappointing surprisingly. Should have gone with the Wagyu yakitori I think instead! Def worth a try if you like your yakitoris, the sake flights are worth the value if you wanted to taste a few they had on offer."
