"I can't believe I waited so long to have ramen again and for the BBQ chicken ramen at Shop Ramen it was worth the wait. Absolutely delicious and a clever deviation from traditional Ramen. Would love to see some more artwork on the walls to give this place a pop of colour, but regardless I will be back."
"A popular dining place. Can get crowded with a waiting queue as the evening progresses. Ordered the following for dinner : 1. Shoyu Pork Belly Ramen - Clear Soup noodles which was more on the salty for my liking. Grinding the sesame seed jar on the table adds more flavour to the soup. Pork belly slice was soft, tender and tasty. Not something I would order again though. 2. Pork Belly Bun - Pork belly slice wrapped in white fluffy mantou. A slice of Japanese cucumber wrapped together with crispy onion bits sprinkled on with bulldog sauce (which was more like a thick soy sauce with a slightly sweet touch - too salty again for my liking). 3. Yuzu sipper - a supposedly gin cocktail that tasted more like a fizzy drink. Nothing much to shout about, tasted like something that was prepared in advanced quantity which is poured out when orders come in. Decent dining experience that is family friendly."
"Arriving famished, it was good to sniff the air filled with the scents of steaming ramen. We started with the Beef Brisket and Kimchi Bao, which had a tender morsel of meat accompanied by a balanced Kimch. The latter added a little spice without being overpowering. The texture of my Shoyu Ramen was chewy and bouncy, with a piece of pork belly that melted in the mouth and half a marinated egg with the yolk still runny. It was pretty salty, however, and I was guzzling my drink after this. My friend's Miso Ramen with BBQ Chicken was rich in flavour, with a slightly smoky aroma from the burnt cabbage and chicken. We came here on a Friday night during peak hour and the place was buzzing with action. Service was minimal but satisfactory. The chilled but happening vibe made the space inviting for a quick dinner and casual catch-up."
"The brisket Tan Tan Men ramen is delicious. The house sake is excellent. The staff are cool and competent. This is great food and hospitality and design together with something special. And it's right next door to Raccoon Club, the best bar on the northside. And across the street from The Keys bowling alley. Too much choice. Right here in Preston on the 86 tram line. Who would want to live anywhere else?"
