"I worked as a contractor and the people are the best very good working ethics and nice people to work with. Lovely organisation everyone is family here and no one is above the other. Thanks the best opportunity that Mainfrieght has given me."
"I had a recent delivery with these guys and they were perfect. My order arrived within 3 days from SA to Sydney. They communicated and rang me an hour before delivery. I read the bad reviews and was very pleasantly surprised when everything went well. Thank you guys. Keep up the good work and hope you have more good experiences in future to boost your score back up!"
"Please remove the red flag of communist Vietnam from the pole in your company yard. It's not good for your business. That red flag represents cruelty, oppression and injustice. There is nothing good coming out of it. Thanks for your consideration. Regards. A member of concerned community"
"- No contact was ever made to advise that a delivery time will have to be scheduled with the recipient. I called to follow up as the item was sitting in the warehouse for a week and I was told so then a day for the delivery was booked in. - the day came and no phone call no delivery I called again just to be told the item (500kg) had suddenly gone missing. - I was told I would be contacted later in the day which never happened I had to call again and spoke to another person who reassured me I would receive a phone call shortly with an update which never happened. -I called again and spoke to a third person who told me the previous 2 employees who said they would contact me had gone home for the day. - she reassured me I would receive a call with an update today currently still waiting and no one has called. This company is a joke and they’ll be getting a formal written complaint by the end of the day."
"I used Mainfreight Transport out of Townsville/Mackay and of Sydney a few weeks ago, to ship a steam-jacketed soup kettle from Mackay to Katoomba. They were very professional in their dealings with me...up to the point I put my shipment in their hands. Once my shipment arrived...the driver unloaded it in a great hurry, and got my signature and took off...and then five minutes later, when I unwrapped the kettle on the pallet...I found it to be badly damaged. The back had been badly bashed, breaking two of the valves on the back and denting the kettle...and doing who knows what other damage...as you may know, if a steam-jacketed kettle loses its ability to hold a vacuum...it is useless. Fortunately, I had taken pictures of the kettle just prior to shipping...so I have pictures of the kettle "as shipped"...and had also had a catering equipment technician examine the kettle and give me a condition report on it just prior to shipping; so I have proof that the damage occured while in Mainfreight's possession. But when I reported the damage, just 10 minutes after receiving the Kettle from them, I was referred to "Customer Service"...and there I was connected with a Mainfreight rep by the name of Vanessa O'neill. She said they would "have to do an investigation"..and would call me back later that day. She didn't. So I called her back and she said she would call me back the next morning. She didn't. So the following day, I had to call her back...and she tells me that she can't help me; that Mainfreight "has no liability because the shipment wasn't insured", and that the matter was being transferred to something called "Sydney Admin". But she basically told me it was pointless to pursue the matter further...because I had signed off on something called "terms and conditions" when I shipped the Kettle with them.! Apparently, the "terms and conditions" of shipping with Mainfreight...is that they are free to trash your shipment...and if you are a "one-off" customer, or "small fry" to them...they feel free to totally deny any responsibility for handling your shipment properly....delivering your item in the same condition you delivered it to them. But the reality is, that I didn't agree to any "terms and conditions"; I didn't sign anything; I wasn't advised of anything about "insurance" being needed. I was never given anything by them. I handled the whole thing by phone with the Mackay depot. They charged me 632.00 do transport a simple soup Kettle from Mackay to Katoomba...which I thought pretty steep (I can ship the same kettle from Los Angeles to Katoomba via ship....for the same money) but I was glad to pay them that amount because I was persuaded they were the most professional transport company available. And maybe they are...for BIG, BIG COMPANIES who give them a ton of business. But my little shipment seemingly didn't deserve to be handled with care. They didn't handle it with care...they smashed it. And then, because I am a little "nobody" to them...they refuse to deal with the issue honestly. So it looks like to get any justice in this matter, I will have to take this matter to Local Court-Small Claims here in Katoomba. Which is really a shame. Time is precious...and if they would just do the right thing...they would do better in the long run than if they treat small customers as they are treating me. I have written to the Sydney Branch Manager, Mr. Craig Smith, hoping that he will do the right thing, and not force us to go to Local Court to get fair compensation for Mainfreight's damage to our shipment...and if Mainfreight changes their approach to this...I will certainly retract what I am saying here. But for now, it looks like MAINFREIGHT IS A TRANSPORT COMPANY TO BE AVOIDED LIKE THE PLAGUE, ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A "LITTLE GUY"!! Sincerely, David Alexander Katoomba"
