The St Vincent de Paul Society is not only dedicated to providing assistance but also actively speaking out against the causes of poverty and inequality on behalf of those we serve. We have countless success stories, like Samantha, whose life has been turned around with a helping hand from Vinnies. J, who was injured after being retrenched, found support in our organization. And D, who lost her job just before her 64th birthday, received the help she needed during a difficult time.
As a lay Catholic organization, we are dedicated to creating a more just and compassionate society. We acknowledge that we are on Aboriginal land and pay our respects to all traditional custodians. "Good place"
"Vinnies Fairfield Heights was good before long time ago. There some really rude and arrogant ladies work there (redhead and blond aged ladies). Prices were reasonable for a charity shop but now like a normal market price or sometimes even much higher. I will give you a few examples today I noticed a ladies hand bag Givenchy brand was $100. I saw a Michael Cors was $30 before stuff changed. I saw a guitar which is really really bad quality, no brand selling for $110 which you can buy from JB Hifi or from any other shop (even online) under $90???? What the Hell!!! They are not a profit maker shop but looks like there not charity. And last one I bought a belt for my pants recently was $3 Or $4 one. Blond aged one checked the priced and said "this is Jag, how come that cheap. It should has been $8-$10 something "!!!! :)))) it was really very old, worn and looks bad. I just needed something temporarily for one day or less. Aha and I didn't know this is a brand :) I will learn her name and will give more info for staff there. Store manager who is Helen is really lovely person, helpful and friendly. But, I believe even she has a hard times with those outcasted, hopeless and shameful ones. I will update very soon with more. This shop needs to attention and please don't let them work there because they are really arrogant except Helen, one Lebanese lady on the counter and one Persian lady who is in charged really lovely."
"Purely profit driven... What happened to the 4 for $10 deal?? Seriously, you get given all your stock, and the place is always busy!"
