Hong Kong Best Food

"I concur with some of the previous reviews. The vibes are definitely Hong Kong; Cantonese chatters all round, the themed decor, Beyond music playing in the background throughout our meals there. The bonus is the surprisingly polite staff serving us (actually it is not a Hong Kong trait). However, when it comes to the all important food, it’s just passable. We ordered 2 baked rice dishes, one typical Cantonese shredded pork noodle and a pork chop rice, and none came close to the unique ‘HK flavour’ I come to expect. Something’s missing here to truly justify the name of the shop. I will still be eating here but only once in a blue moon. If you miss the HK cafe style food, unfortunately you do not have many choices. The other one in Wantirna is still my pick."

"This place looks the goods with the beautiful Hong Kong inspired decor however I feel that the taste didn't completely meet my expectations. It is the first time we have eaten at this particular restaurant but I have eaten in Cantonese restaurants and cafes in Hong Kong and here many times before. The food was a little bland with the exception of a very nice pineapple bun and milk tea. I found the restaurant staff to be a little pushy as well for the small things for example we had already placed a $70+ order for two people and paid upfront but my wife wanted to take some of the leftovers of one dish home. We asked for a take away box and the waitress brought us one and said we needed to pay for it at the counter at the end "which is fair enough" however they proceeded to come over to the table multiple times to clear the "bill" .55c I gave her 50c as I forgot about the weekend surcharge and had 50c in my wallet however they made me go to the front and pay for it on card instead which I thought was weird. Once again probably not a problem with the waitress staff but maybe a management problem of them being a bit too stingy with customers. Personally I think there is a bit to be improved in the restaurant and wouldn't really choose to come here to eat a full meal again maybe just to have a pineapple bun and tea."

"A nice eatery place with a very extensive menu. We stuck with HK cafe food though the menu includes Malaysian cuisine such as BKT. The French toast was really spot on, think the best I’ve tasted. Other dishes as per pic were not bad. Have to say drinks were absolutely splendid. Next table ordered sweet and sour pork with rice and looked so good, something to order in our next visit."

"Baked pork shop rice was decent. The brisket in the curry was very chewy but the flavour was authentic for hk cafes. Gigantic portion of rice remember to let them know if you prefer a smaller bowl."
