"We hired this cleaner as I wanted to use a local cleaner. Went through the details, it was $180 for a standard clean and because we wanted a deep clean of our bathrooms would be an extra $70 because it would take longer. She spent just over 3 hours (4 b/r house on her own) doing the whole job - so about $80/hr! There was no deep clean of the bathrooms. One toilet had water stains / streaks which she didn't even try to clean. When messaging her afterwards she said that was common in the area because the sewer treatment wasn't good and couldn't be removed. We tried ourselves and while not easy and took some elbow grease (exactly what we paid this person for) the toilet was pure white again in less than 30 mins. She clearly had not tried at all. The main shower was left with a lot of soap scum build up on the shower screens and the floor tiles in the shower were still very dirty. Again, minimal effort and looks like all she used were the general cleaning products we had in our bathroom - saw no evidence she brought her own products for the deep clean we'd asked. Messaged her and asked her to come back and do the deep clean we'd asked and paid for. We arranged for a Monday afternoon around 5pm. After 5:30pm I messaged her and her response was she was "just about to message me" and let me know she couldn't come anymore. Arranged for her to come the next afternoon at 5pm. At 5:15pm I messaged to ensure she was arriving soon to then get a response from her that she's still working and wouldn't come until after 8pm. Told her not to bother. If you want a very basic clean, this person might be ok. But for deep cleans and end of lease cleans like they advertise they're specialists in - steer clear. Have asked for a refund of the extra $70, which she's said she'll do."
