"Always walk in and pick up a dvd to judge how expensive or cheap a store is. We have a winner. First dvd i picked up said $15. Why don't they get rid of these people placing insane prices with people that know what the poor can afford."
"Expensive shop.. like all Vinnies. Over priced"
"Expensive. More of a moneymaking business than helping people. It's sad to see that money making overrides any true charitable purpose. I guess that's the way a cookie crumbles but Vinnies stores nowadays seem to be on a quest to make lots of money"
"Spent $85 and was immensely underwhelmed…. Base/crust was super dry, toppings were dry and boring but an attempt was made to add flavour by smothering the top in sauce.. deffinitely not worth the money and won’t be returning. Barely even ate half of the 3 pizzas, if we didn’t drive 30minutes home before trying, I would have taken it back for a refund"
"Only giving one star because there are no options for zero stars. If proof was wanted that St Vinnies shops are now privately franchised, this is the place. Overpriced to the point of ridiculousness - asking more for pre-loved DVDs and books than Ebay sellers and second hand book dealers. EG. St Vinnies wanted 15.00 for Season 3 of Game of Thrones; two deals spotted on Ebay was Season 3 for 8.00 and free postage or Seasons 1 - 3 for 15.00 with free postage and that's without looking very hard. I notice that a few others who have reviewed this place have encountered very rude staff there - so have I and I have also encountered staff trying to cheat customers more than once. I chose six books out of a display that had a notice that read, 'Book Sale! These books 1.00 each!' That makes 6.00 - the woman at the counter tried to charge me the old individual prices and when I said they came from the 'Sale' basket, she replied, 'That was yesterday, they're full price again today' even though the sale sign was still up and did not specify a day for the sale. I refused to buy them and left, ringing the Department of Fair Trading when I got home to apprise them of this situation. The lady I spoke to said they had had so many complaints about the Springwood store trying to cheat customers in similar ways it wasn't funny. They used to have a trick of placing price stickers over any damage on the book covers - I found that out the hard way. There was also an elderly lady there with a foreign accent who seemed to have real mathematical problems and couldn't add up half a dozen items without getting it wrong in favour of the shop. I had a run-in with her on another book sale day - all books 50c. So again I chose some books and she wanted to know where I'd got them from. There was only one book shelf there at the time, so I pointed out the vacant space on the top shelf my selections had left, which was where the notice reading 'All Books 50c' was placed. She said it was a mistake because the ones I'd chosen were 'nice' books (??? Seemed that only the horrible ones were meant to be on sale???) but she couldn't make it stick; the pricing was clear and did not specify any exemptions. Avoid this place like you would the plague. It's not a charity shop any more, it's privately franchised. And don't donate goods to them either."
