"I recently engaged E&A Lawyers on what should have been a very straight forward family law matter and the entire process has been appalling. Laura insisted on receiving and reviewing years of financial documentation under the guise of ensuring full and frank disclosure which appears to be nothing more than an opportunity to re-risk the firm at my expense and justify many hours of fees for the review of said documentation. I'm sure E&A will respond to this review saying that their extreme-level of disclosure is required by law but this is just plain false as none of the other family lawyers I've since spoken to or the one I've now engaged have request the same level of disclosure. To add insult to injury, despite a written request E&A waited ten days to release the documents in my file and still haven't had the decency to provide the notes from the contract review that I paid for. The only thing they were actually efficient with, paying themselves and providing an invoice that coincidently amounted to the exact dollar figure I paid in advance into their trust account. *** Update As expected, A&E have doubled down on their stance relating to their disclosure requests. Even the link provided clearly states that the obligation is to provide full and frank disclosure to the other party (which we each did), not to your own bloody lawyer...."
