About the Business
Welcome to Inveresk Park, a beloved institution located in the heart of Strathfield, Australia. As a popular neighborhood park, Inveresk Park has been thoughtfully designed to seamlessly blend with the surrounding residential area, providing both recreational opportunities and enhancing the local amenity and streetscape.
One of the primary objectives of Inveresk Park is to offer a safe and enjoyable environment for children to play under the watchful eye of adults. The park boasts well-maintained play areas specifically designed to cater to the needs of young ones, ensuring their entertainment and safety.
In addition to its recreational offerings, Inveresk Park is home to one of the most significant indigenous remnant populations in the Strathfield area. While the natural vegetation has been reduced over time, the park still showcases individual mature trees such as the Grey Box, Wollybutt, White Stringybark, Broad-leaved Ironbark, and Turpentine. These trees stand as a testament to the once-extensive Turpentine-Ironbark and Tall Forest that thrived in this region.
The historical significance of Inveresk Park is also worth mentioning. The park's name pays homage to George Begg Vickery, a prominent figure in Australia's history. George Vickery, son of the wealthy businessman Ebenezer Vickery, managed the family businesses and left behind a substantial estate upon his passing. His son, Ottamar, later subdivided the grounds of 'Inveresk' for residential development and generously donated a sizable portion of land for public recreation, which now stands as Inveresk Park.
To ensure convenient access, Inveresk Park is well-connected by public transportation. The Bus and Train – Trip Planner provides detailed information on timetables and routes, making it easy for visitors to reach the park. Additionally, parking is available on Merley and Beresford Roads for those who prefer to drive.
As we enjoy the beauty and tranquility of Inveresk Park, it is important to acknowledge and pay respect to the Wangal people, the traditional custodians of the land on which the park and Strathfield Council are located. We honor the Elders, both past and present, and recognize their ongoing connection to the land.
Whether you're a local resident looking for a serene escape or a tourist seeking an authentic Australian experience, Inveresk Park offers a delightful blend of natural beauty, recreational opportunities, and historical significance. Come and immerse yourself in the charm of this beloved neighborhood park in Strathfield, Australia.

Reviews
"A good spot and neighbourhood but the bins need emptying. It would be good to have larger areas set up to help native flora and fauna but it's a good start"
"Not so bad"
"Looks new and clean, small park for baby and toddler"
"My kids love this park. Its a quiet park, with a variety of good play equipment, and a water bubbler. It is shaded and has a shaded bench to sit on, as well as a low retaining wall that you can sit on. Has slippery dips, climbing walls, and swings. Lots of birds in thw nearby trees. A clean, pretty and enjoyable park for young kids. Older kids might get bored."
"Excellent small local park. The play equipment was updated in the last few years and still feels fresh. There's also a table under cover and bush regeneration areas."
